Are Rapture Date-setters REALLY False Prophets? Consider this!

By Mike Shoesmith

Somebody wrote the following comment on one of our posts yesterday: "PPSIMMONS needs to study the bible a bit deeper." It was on the "New Rapture Date Emerges" article we posted. There are a couple of issues here. First, someone who is incapable of properly spelling the word "Bible" should not suggest that we require deeper knowledge of said book (it is properly spelled with a capital 'B'). Secondly, condescension is an evil and disrespectful form of expression reserved for those who lack sufficient intelligence to actually make a useful point.
Also, and I think this is worthy of consideration, the phrase uttered by Jesus who said no man knows the day or hour may not actually be referring to the rapture folks. The rapture is the 'mystery' fulfilled. Notice that Paul actually calls the rapture a 'mystery.'

1 Corinthians 15:51 ¶Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

And then in Rev 10, as we see the endtime events unfolding, we once again see the mystery of God approaching its climax with the rapture of the church, the 'mystery' fulfilled.

But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.
Revelation 10:7

The Seventh Trumpet blows in the 11th chapter and the church is pulled off the earth before the bowls/vials are poured out because, alas, God's people are not appointed to wrath.

The 'day' which no man knows according to Jesus does not necessarily refer to the mystery fulfilled (the rapture itself being the mystery event) but could in fact be referring to His return to earth, along with the Saints who were previously raptured.

Jude 1:14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,
15 ¶To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.

So please, do not be so harsh on those who attempt to INTERPRET the rapture prophecy. People who attempt to put a date on the rapture are not false prophets as many have accused. The rapture has ALREADY been prophesied. Merely attempting to interpret the prophecy does not a false prophet make. Be merciful.

  1. I am NOT setting dates, but I must state you did not complete the information on letting the scriptures speak. AND I am not deceived by may false prophets.
I will give you an ok to use the word rapture for a future event. Just when? 1. AFTER the dead in Christ are resurrected. When are they resurrected? AT THE LAST TRUMPET. When is the last trumpet? Is it the end of the seven trumpet woes? or some other time, or do these some other time and the seven trumpet blasts coincide. AND what is this some other time? Ever hear of the feast of trumpets? Found in Leviticus chapter 23.
Matthew 24 (KJV) Yeshua, THE Messiah speaking
29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:

30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

Sounds to me like all this is going to happen AFTER THE TRIBULATION AT THE SECOND COMING.

  2. The Prophecy of Joel will come to fulfillment in 2015 as "the sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord." (Joel 2:13) 2015 will also be a Shemitah Year in which God does something to get our attention just as He did when He punished the disobedient Children of Israel with the Seven Sets of Seven. Previous Shemitah Years saw the seven blgs of the WTC destroyed in the Islamic terrorists attack in Sept 2001; seven years later - in Sept 2008 - the Dow Jones fell 777 points in one day. Seven years from then brings us to Sept 2015 - The Prophecy of Joel!
