Special Report! Historic Level of Christian Persecution

(Syndicated from Connection Magazine)

In January, 2015, Open Doors USA released a report declaring that Christian persecution has reached historical levels in 2014. With the United States' unrelenting attacks against God’s Covenant of marriage and His Covenanted land of Israel, the worst is on the horizon.

Although Christian-majority nations are experiencing unprecedented levels of discrimination and oppression, including the USA, Muslim extremism is currently the primary driver of Christian persecution in 40 of the top 50 nations listed.

Open Doors points out, every month 322 Christians are killed for their faith, 214 Christian churches and properties are destroyed, and 772 forms of violence are committed against Christians around the world.

Todd Nettleton, a spokesman for Voice of the Martyrs, told RNS news service, “Even where moderate Islamic states offer peace — and that is rare — they (Christians) almost never have freedom to practice their faith and are often marked for death.”

Christian Persecution’s Slow and Steady Rise in America

The USA has outlawed prayer and the Bible in public schools; recently escalated its attack against Christians in the military; unrelentingly, attacks God’s Covenant land of Israel by coercing the Jewish nation to divide the holy land with the Muslim Brotherhood terror group, Palestinian Hamas; and now attempts to defile God’s Covenant of marriage by redefining marriage in the Supreme Court next month.

Regarding America’s attack against God’s marriage Covenant, former Governor and current US Presidential Candidate, Mike Huckabee warned, "we are moving rapidly toward the criminalization of Christianity."

Huckabee prophesied that more perilous times lie ahead for Christians in America.  "It's not simply going to be a church's tax exempt status is threatened," he warned, "But more importantly… criminal charges for a person who defies the new government norm, a new legal norm."

We’ve Been Warned!

In Matthew 24, Jesus warned His followers that the rise of Christian persecution would be a sign of the end of the age, and before His return to earth to overthrow the 10 kingdoms of the final, one-world beast government and to establish His Kingdom on the earth. (also see Daniel 2:44)

Today, Christians are persecuted more than any other religion, and at historic levels. The following Bible Scriptures contain answers to the mystery of end-time persecution of those who declare righteousness and follow Jesus (Yahshua ha’Mashiach).

You Don’t Belong to World

Philippians 3:20-21, “But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.”

1 Peter 1:17, …live out your time as foreigners here in reverent fear.

The World Hates Jesus

John 15:18-21, Jesus said, “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you. Remember what I told you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also."
Luke 6:22, Jesus said, “Blessed are you, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake.”

1 John 3:13-16, "Do not be surprised, my brothers and sisters, if the world hates you.  We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love each other. Anyone who does not love remains in death. Anyone who hates a brother or sister is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life residing in him. This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters."

The World Rejects Righteousness

Matthew 5:10-12, "Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you."

End of the Age Persecution of Followers of Jesus

Matthew 24:7-13, Regarding the end of time and His return to earth, Jesus told His followers, “For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows. Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake. And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.”

Revelation 12:17, "And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ."

(Revelation 13:7-10) “...It was given unto him (the Beast) to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. If any man has an ear, let him hear. He that leads into captivity shall go into captivity: he that kills with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.”

(Daniel 12:6&7)  “...How long shall the fulfillment of these wonders be?” Then I heard the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand to heaven, and swore by Him who lives forever, that it shall be for a time, times, and half a time; and when the power of the holy people has been completely shattered, all these things shall be finished.

More Followers of Jesus Killed After 5th Seal Opened

(Revelation 6:9-11) “When He opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the testimony which they held. And they cried with a loud voice, saying, ‘How long, O Lord, holy and true, until You judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?’ Then a white robe was given to each of them; and it was said to them that they should rest a little while longer, until both the number of their fellow servants and their brethren, who would be killed as they were, was completed.”

Luke 12:4-5, Jesus said, “And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he has killed has power to cast into hell; yes, I say unto you, Fear him.”
