ENTER HIS GATES WITH THANKSGIVING

"Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. Psalms 100:4, KJV.

Gates designate the property line. The court is the inner room or rooms where the property owner is often found.  There are several applications to the word gates and court that we might imagine, but for now let us determine the gate is the property line of your church and the court is the worship center.

Have you ever gone to church without giving God thanks? Have you ever entered the worship center without praise and blessings for God from your lips or in your heart?  I am ashamed to say that I have.  Did you know that is a sin?  The Bible commands that we enter his property with thanksgiving and his presence with praise and blessing.  Praise means to be aware of and acknowledge his holiness and greatness. Blessing means to be positive towards.

When we are young our parents taught us to say "thank you" when someone did something nice for us.  Saying thank you to God is easy considering all he has done, is doing and will do for us.  So, do that.  Next Sunday, when you drive onto the church property say to God (aloud or silently), "Thank you, God."  When you step into the worship center say to God (aloud or silently), "I praise you, God -- and I bless your name."   During the worship service let God know you are thankful and give him praise (an expression of your awareness of his holiness and greatness) and blessing (a positive attitude towards God).

You will be surprised how much more you will receive from God during that service.  Obedience brings blessings.

"..prove (test) me...sayeth, the Lord...(and see) if I will open the windows of heaven and pour you out a blessing...."  Malachi 3:10.  (Parenthesis mine.)
