SINGER AMY GRANT'S MANAGER ATTACKS CHRISTIAN MUSIC INDUSTRY

by Jonathan Israel, www.ConnectionMagazine.org

November 5, 2016- Lifeway Christian retail chain has refused to sell Amy Grant's new Christmas album, so, Amy sent her hired manager, Jennifer Cooke, to publicly attack Lifeway. Cooke mockingly lamented Christian music policy saying, "to be promoted on the radio and in retail, each song really needed to be able to be neatly wrapped up in a 'Jesus is the answer' bow."

After Amy Grant crossed over from Christian to secular markets in the '90's, her music showed an acceptance and promotion of worldly lust, even hinting at fornication/adultery as acceptable. It was at that time her music began to be rejected in the Christian arena; both retailers and radio.

Cooke disagrees with Christianity's refusal to tolerate carnal spirits, "I believe Jesus is the answer, but I also find Him to be engaged in the midst of our humanity and that there is also something beautiful and holy to be explored in our humanness."

However, while Cooke seeks to glorify the ways of 'humanness' (flesh), Scripture says, "no flesh should glory in the Lord's presence." After all, Jesus/Yahshua died to redeem all mankind from the fallen flesh nature, which is cursed unto death. Therefore, "He that glories, let him glory in the Lord." 1 Cor. 1:31

THE RESULT OF AMY GRANT'S LUSTFUL SONGS

Deviating from God's word, Amy Grant now embraces a lifestyle that is certainly humanly carnal. Grant once married to singer Gary Chapman, boldly claims that divorce is in order if a marriage seems to be hurtful. Grant did not describe what constitutes hurtful.

However, in Matthew 5:32 Jesus said, "But I say to you that whoever divorces his wife for any reason except sexual immorality causes her to commit adultery; and whoever marries a woman who is divorced commits adultery."

Meanwhile, seemingly disillusioned by his wife's divorce action, former husband Chapman claims that the Biblical view of marriage is correct and that he believes that a marriage is meant to last a lifetime. Grant divorced him in 1999.

Amy Grant not only unbiblically divorced her husband, she compounded her adulterous sin by marrying a divorced man. Her and new husband Vince Gill had known each other for several years having worked on musical projects together. They were often spotted together at various locations in Nashville before both decided to divorce their spouses and then marry each other.

Amy Grant unashamedly admits to having lusted so strongly after another woman's husband that she divorced her own husband to get the other man. Eventually, the man she vigorously chased divorced his wife and they married.

BIBLICAL REJECTION

Righteously so, many Christian radio stations in America have since pulled Amy Grants music from their rotation, in keeping with the following scriptures, which require believers to withdraw from those who teach another doctrine or who refuse to consent to doctrine which accords with godliness. (I Timothy 6:3-5) and (II John Verses 9-11)

The good news for Amy Grant and Vince Gill is that Jesus died for their sins that they "might be" saved as John 3:16 declares. Hopefully they will repent and accept God's grace, God's word, and God's way as final authority. (I John 1:5-10)

If not, and they continue to validate and justify what God calls sin, they will be denied entrance into God's Eternal Kingdom. (Galatians 5:19-21)
