STUNNER! CONGRESS CONSIDERING FREE SPEECH FOR PASTORS

There’s a new boss in Washington, and a new attention being paid to conservative issues, and now Congress is even considering a plan that would restore free speech to church pastors – part of a group targeted by Lyndon Johnson when he was a senator, fighting for re-election, and wanted to shut up his critics.

That was way back in 1954, when Johnson – ticked that a conservative organization wanted to limit the treaty-making ability of the president and that it called for rancher-oilman Dudley Dougherty to be elected instead of Johnson – forced his censorship plan through Congress.

It restricts the ability of nonprofits, including churches, to comment on issues that involve politics.

President Trump expressed concern about the IRS statute on the campaign, and even left-leaning organizations have admitted it is an issue.

According to one of those groups, the argument is organizations that are tax exempt should not be permitted to support or oppose candidates for office, but they admitted it was “likely” that Johnson “was motivated by a desire to exact revenge” when he insisted on adoption.
