PESTILENCES AND EARTHQUAKES: Just another sign foretold by Jesus

Not to worry folks - pestilences are just something we'll be living with until the second coming. Jesus said it Himself. Pestilences and earthquakes, two things weighing heavily in the news headlines these days, are part of a list given by Jesus; a list a realities which would persist, and perhaps even be on the rise, in the "last days".

From super-bugs to level 9 earthquakes we are living in very uncertain times. Scientists can't seem to keep up with it all. Entire countries are being overtaken by natural calamities which take the lives of seemingly increasing numbers of people. Banana's and bees are being wiped out by fungi. Swine flu and bird flu, West Nile and Rhino Viruses; a never ending stream of warnings from CDC on this or that disease.

Earthquakes are seemingly in the news every week if not every day. From Asia to America the whole earth seems to be groaning; getting a little anxious, a little upset maybe? No surprise really - at least to the student of scripture:

For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.

Matthew 24:7

Hmmm... if only that looked familiar. Indeed I'm being sarcastic. Of course it looks familiar. Every day in the headlines we are seeing exactly those situations unfolding around the world. and that is a very important aspect of all of this - the ability for the whole world to see it. This is an ability which has only recently come about - in our generation.

So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.

Matthew 24:33

Read Matthew 24 yourselves for a greater understanding of this. And then simply turn on the news. Nation is rising against nation and Kingdom against Kingdom. We are experiencing earthquakes and pestilences on a daily basis... new, unusual, and more powerful ones. The time has come to wake up and start paying attention. The End Time is not coming... the End Time is now.
