I wonder what would happen if a well-armed popular uprising in America, streaming in with guns in hand from every corner of the country, set its sights on the White House to get Obama out of office by force. I wonder if Obama would step aside like he expects Assad to do. I wonder. Or perhaps he would order his men to shut it down as an illegal act of aggression against the commander of the military? Perhaps he would not apply the same principles to himself as he does to other presidents? I suspect such an uprising would be quickly dealt with in the land of the free. After all, he has no regard for the constitution so why would he have respect for the Declaration of Independence which clearly states...

But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.Even though the so-called "Arab spring" will likely usher in the Islamic extremist take-over of the region, such an exploit, though enshrined in the founding documents, would lead to a blood bath on US streets unlike anything seen in Syria. Obama would not simply walk away. He would shut down the trouble makers in much the same way Bashar Assad is doing.
There's a double standard going on here. Assad is defending his office from Muslim Brotherhood and Al Qaida terrorists and if Obama was under attack from people who would hang him from a tree, would he act any differently or would he shut the uprising down?
Some people think a plan is in the works to have our own "American spring". Me? I'm just glad I live in Canada!
