They've been doing it in Canada for decades. Putting warning labels on cigarette packs with pictures showing the lungs of a deceased smoker, the teeth of a long-time smoker, etc. They do it to exhibit the negative side of smoking.
But did you know that the US government has an official disclaimer for male same-sex behavior? They call it MSM and the official disclaimer can be found at the CDC (Centers for Disease Control) website.
Gay, bisexual, and other men who have sex with men (MSM)arepresent approximately 2% of the US population, yet are the population most severely affected by HIV. In 2010, MSM accounted for 63% of all new HIV infections, and MSM with a history of injection drug use (MSM-IDU) accounted for an additional 3% of new infections. So, that brings us back to the original question. Should these men be forced to also wear warning labels? Labels such as "Young men who have sex with men are responsible for 2/3 of all new HIV cases."
Something to think about. We could go on being hypocrites or we could apply the same common sense across the board. Or how about this: we could simply go back to telling the truth about the lifestyle which any loving society is obligated to do. Anything else would just be... hateful?
