When the US government is partially shut down like it is now, the government is being run closer to the original intent of the Founding Fathers than when the government is fully functioning. The Founding Fathers never intended for the US government to provide any more than essential services. When the government is in a partial shut down mode, all they do is provide essential services. They do not meet and vote on how States should or must run their States or how American's should or must live our day-to-day lives. Every night, every weekend, and every federal holiday the government goes into partial shut down mode and we, the American people, get to rest easier.
Every time the government shuts down our economy gets stronger and our nation gets better. The federal government should stay in partial shut down mode and provide only essential services 24/7. Our County would be better served. The over-involvement of Congress in the rights of States and the private lives of our citizens hurts us in the same way a person with walking pneumonia is worse off because of it.
Enjoy the Christmas and New Years holiday and enjoy any extended partial shut down of the federal government. For these brief moments we are safer from the evil and over-reaching arm of Congress.
