Chapter 6
Atheism in Bible Prophecy
}{

Whoso keepeth the commandment shall feel no evil
thing: and a wise man's heart discerneth both time
and judgment.
Ecclesiastes 8:5

The United States of America was settled by God-fearing people. They came to America’s shores with a shovel in one hand and a Bible in the other. Over the following decades the U.S. became a launching pad for the Gospel to travel throughout the world, with the “Great Commission” as the end goal. The United States of America is mentioned in the Bible. I know this topic is a little controversial but let me assure you, the U.S. is there.

The first was like a lion, and had eagle's wings: I
beheld till the wings thereof were plucked, and it
was lifted up from the earth, and made stand upon
the feet as a man, and a man's heart was given to it.
Daniel 7:4
The Lion is the animal symbol for Great Britain. It had Eagle’s wings. The wings were “plucked” and basically became their own nation with the heart of a man which can easily be represented by “Uncle Sam”. The animal symbol for the U.S. is the Eagle. Throughout scripture the eagle represents freedom and vitality.

Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that
thy youth is renewed like the eagle's.
Psalms 103:5
Ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and
how I bare you on eagles' wings, and brought you
unto myself.
Exodus 19:4
But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew
their strength; they shall mount up with wings as
eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they
shall walk, and not faint. Isaiah 40:31

So the U.S. came out of Great Britain along with the Gospel. No other country in history has done more to spread the gospel around the world through funding of missionaries, etc, than the United States. Now, what we see happening is a great surge of atheism and anti-theism coming like a tidal wave straight out of Great Britain. The great falling away is following the same path as the spreading of the gospel with people like Christopher Hitchens and Richard Dawkins who are noted atheists writing books titled “God is not Great” and “The God Delusion”. They make speaking engagements all around the U.S. spreading their message that God is dead and science has killed him. They are the dynamic duo of the great falling away prophesied in scripture and they are not alone.

For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.
1 Corinthians 4:20

Think about this remarkable phrase that I heard many years ago. It’s a phrase that quite literally changed my life. If someone is able to talk you into Christianity then someone smarter than that person will be able to talk you out of it. If that’s the case then were you really a Christian? Did you really know God in a personal, dynamic relationship? Yet thousands of “Christians” are abandoning their beliefs every year in the U.S. and Canada. I have often made the statement that there is no such thing as a “Christian turned Atheist”. Real Christians actually KNOW God. You can’t know God personally and then turn around and deny He
exists! It would be like shopping at Wal-Mart and then later on telling all your friends that Wal-Mart doesn’t exist! How silly is that? So where, specifically, is atheism mentioned in scripture? Check this out:

¶Let no man deceive you by any means: for that
day shall not come, except there come a falling
away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son
of perdition; 2Thessalonians 2:3

Modern atheism is the “falling away”. Richard Dawkins and Christopher Hitchens have made millions of dollars selling books and convincing people intellectually that there are no gods or transcendental realities and people are quite literally falling away from Christianity. They never had a tight grip on it in the first place anyway. Jesus Himself said no one can come to Him unless that person is drawn. To be drawn one needs to be accessed by the transcendent God. So atheism is drawing people who aren't really in a relationship on a
personal level with God but they had a mental agreement with the idea of Christianity until they were offered a better alternative. So, by extension, modern atheism is actually fulfilling Bible prophecy. When we conflate the fulfillment of this prophecy with the myriad of other prophecies that are being fulfilled in our lifetime beginning with the obvious third trumpet coming to pass in Chernobyl, Ukraine in the mid-eighties which had to come after the first and second trumpets fulfilled in the two theaters of WWII along with the fourth and fifth trumpets happening in stunning detail in Kuwait and Iraq we can say with extreme confidence that the end time is now. There is a massive re-writing of history going on in the world. Certain names are coming up in dialogue and debate. These names are of people who are no longer with us and are incapable of defending themselves. Lies are being spread about these great thinkers of the past. They are being heralded as the great atheists of their time; people you would never have guessed were atheists and yet the modern atheist movement is forging ahead with the notion that great luminaries like Albert Einstein were, in fact, atheists. Here is what Albert Einstein actually had to say about God. The following is from a website dedicated to the life of Albert Einstein which can be found at Einstein-quotes.com.

Before God we are all equally wise - and equally
foolish.
Do you believe in immortality? No, and one life is
enough for me.
God always takes the simplest way.
I do not believe in the God of theology who rewards
good and punishes evil.
God does not care about our mathematical
difficulties. He integrates empirically.
God does not play dice.
God may be subtle, but he isn't malicious. I cannot
imagine a God who rewards and punishes the objects
of his creation and is but a reflection of human frailty.
I want to know God's thoughts... the rest are details.
It was the experience of mystery - even if mixed with
fear - that engendered religion.
Morality is of the highest importance - but for us, not
for God.
My religion consists of a humble admiration of the
illimitable superior spirit who reveals himself in the
slight details we are able to perceive with our frail and
feeble mind.
One strength of the communist system of the East is
that it has some of the character of a religion and
inspires the emotions of a religion.
When the solution is simple, God is answering.
Whoever undertakes to set himself up as a judge of
Truth and Knowledge is shipwrecked by the laughter
of the Gods.
That deep emotional conviction of the presence of a
superior reasoning power, which is revealed in the
incomprehensible universe, forms my idea of God.
True religion is real living; living with all one's soul,
with all one's goodness and righteousness.
Science without religion is lame, religion without
science is blind.
All religions, arts and sciences are branches of the
same tree.
Now, Albert Einstein was, by all accounts, not a Christian. But can there be any doubt at all whether or not he was an atheist? Hardly. If a person was forced to put a label on him one would have to say he was a Deist. He surely had his dogmatic, unambiguous opinion about God didn’t he? To say the least he didn’t seem to be in doubt as to the existence of God at all! It really does pay to do one’s own research. Since
the modern atheist movement is currently laying claim to the most brilliant of historical persons I wonder what one such had to say about atheism itself. I’m referring to Sir Isaac Newton who said: “Atheism is Nonsense”.
What about Benjamin Franklin who said the following: “God heals. Doctors take the fees” He was undoubtedly referring to the inescapable fact that doctors borrow logic, reason, and intelligence from their
creator. Since it’s obvious to most people that logic is transcendental, Franklin rather takes it for granted, I think, that people would automatically understand the humor behind his statement without having to bore us with further detail; a luxury he could not afford in today’s intellectually stunted climate.

¶Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the
latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving
heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
1 Timothy 4:1

So with the knowledge that all these things were going to happen just as they were prophesied in scripture, we ought to rejoice that our redemption draws nearer and nearer. We should continue to reach out to these people by loving them with the truth. We should also acknowledge that certain events and circumstances are actually etched in stone, as it were, and we are all just spectators seated in heavenly places. Yes, it’s true, that we are supposed to be doing exploits and “fighting the good fight of faith” but we should not be at all surprised when the things we see spoken of in scripture as future events cease to be future events and begin happening in our lifetimes. It is encouraging to read about world events which could in no way come true during the writer’s time and then look around at our paradigm and realize that we are right in the thick of it all and we could very well be the generation that will see the coming of the Lord in the clouds and meet him in the air; that we will witness the overthrow of the world government system by the King of Kings and help him set up his earthly kingdom. That is what the future hold for the believer. That is why we wait for his “blessed appearing”. It’s not so that we can float around on clouds playing harps for eternity. We were created for earth. We will rule and reign with him on earth. This “falling away” that we see happening en masse is just a part of the separation which coincides with every other “end time” prophecy. People are abandoning their intellectual acceptance of the faith because they never had a relationship with God and God is allowing it. The religious church experience was never impressive to Him anyway. He wanted you. He wants you. He longs to know you intimately. Religion is repulsive to him. Look at the evil that has been caused by religion. The heart of God is to love people and not to destroy them. He certainly does not ask anyone to strap bombs to themselves or their loved ones in His name. Death and destruction follow the weak religious mind which has been persuaded to believe in absurdities.

Religious but Lost

So, God allows the un-adopted masses to destroy themselves and each other knowing what their end is. The purposes of God are fulfilled in the end. While the people make war and claim to be righteous and godly, He watches as the religious enemies of God fall away, in their anger, in their hatred, and in their ignorance. All of  the world’s religions, including atheism, have at least one thing in common: God is against them all. So here we are, standing on the edge of what Jesus described as the “end of this age” (Mathew 28:20). We are staring directly into the face of the “time of the end” prophesied by (Daniel 12:9). Are you ready? The time is short.

Daniel 12:9
And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are
closed up and sealed till the time of the end.
10 Many shall be purified, and made white, and
tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of
the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall
understand.
