LINDSEY GRAHAM TO SEEK CONGRESSIONAL AUTHORIZATION FOR MILITARY STRIKE ON IRAN AS LAST RESORT

Republican Senator Lindsey Graham said on Saturday he will ask Congress to provide President Barack Obama with authorization to use military force against Iran to destroy their nuclear program.

Military force would only be used as a last resort if diplomacy fails, according to the South Carolina Senator. Nonetheless, Graham wants Obama to have the option.

Graham, speaking on Gov. Mike Huckabee's Fox News program, said the move will work to make sure we send "a clear signal that this debacle called Syria doesn't mean we're confused about Iran."

"We may be confused as a nation on what to do with the chemical weapons in Syria, but we're not confused as a nation as to what to do with the nuclear program in Iran," he said, according to the Newsmax.

According to Graham, the move may also prevent a future conflict with Iran and Israel.

"Everyone believes the Iranians cannot be allowed to get a nuclear weapon, and we have to send that signal," Graham said. "Israel feels abandoned after Syria — and I want to send a signal to Tehran, and Jerusalem, and Tel Aviv that we're not going to leave our friends in Israel behind."

"And to the ayatollahs," Graham warned, "If you march toward a nuclear weapon, all options are on the table, including the military option."

Earlier this month, Graham said if the U.S. gets "Sryia wrong" there would be "a war between Iran and Israel over their nuclear program" in the next six months. The Senator then implied America may get nuked as a result.
