Using the back of a letter from a friend, Darwin sketched out some of his thoughts in a journal entry dated April 7, 1838. Darwin was contemplating marriage by writing out the pro's and con's of such a personal and important decision.
Amongst the pros: "constant companion," "charms of music & female chit-chat". And some of the perceived cons: "means limited, Feel duty to work for money. London life, nothing but Society, no country, no tours, no large Zoolog. Collect. no books. … Could I live in London like a prisoner?"
A most curious entry shows the utter importance of refuting the theory of deep-time evolution because, just as Richard Dawkins was driven into the arms of the the atheist world-view upon discovering the theory of evolution it appears Darwin was also the victim of a ship-wreck caused by finding a way to have life without God.
On the possibility of having children: "Children —(if it Please God) — Constant companion, (& friend in old age) who will feel interested in one, — object to be beloved & played with. — —better than a dog anyhow."
Notice the words "if it please God". This entry was written in July 1838... 21 years before publishing his now famous book "On The Origin of Species".
In 1851 Darwin was devastated when his daughter Annie died. By then his faith in Christianity had dwindled, and he had stopped going to church. This seems to be the intervening event which was the catalyst driving Darwin into the arms of the naturalist state all together. The timeline shows a series of events - his musings on whether or not to have children, apparently leaving the final decision to God, then the death of his daughter, cementing his hardened heart toward God and finally publishing the work that would lead so many others to abandon their faith in God in favor of mythical billions of years of time.
This is why we refute deep-time evolution theory. So far, the evidence is on our side. All of the evidence points to recent spontaneous creation. It is not a trivial matter but rather one that must be refuted... by biblical mandate:
Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre's sake.
Titus 1:11
In The Magic Man in the Sky, Carl Gallups has given us an exciting insight into the many unanswered questions of evolution theory and, based on biblical truths – both prophecies and promises, the possibilities of other worlds and realities denied by evolutionists. With his open and frank approach, supported by extensive research and information from learned professionals in their respective fields, Carl challenges believers and unbelievers to take a serious look at the subjects discussed in this book. Ultimately, Carl invites every reader to seriously consider the gravity and consequences of accepting or rejecting the truth presented. In this hour of all-but-universal darkness, a bright ray of hope and confidence shines forth from the truths of this book. In a time when lives are marked by a growing hunger for spiritual realities, Carl Gallups reveals the truth that real science and Holy Scripture are inseparably linked to verify that behind all creation there is an intelligent designer who created all that exists.
