In any good con there's at least two conspirators. Someone may be used to create a diversion; a distraction of sorts to draw prying eyes away from the real action. This scenario is certainly something to consider when analyzing the dynamics unfolding on the world scene.
North Korea has no hope of winning a battle against even one American submarine let alone the entire US military. But do they really plan on it or are they simply part of a slight of hand trick being played by their Persian buddies? While North Korea is attracting all the attention and perhaps even military might Iran, according to even the White House, is getting ever closer to nuking up.
In an interview with Israeli TV ahead of his visit to the region next week, President Obama says he believes Iran is “over a year or so” away from being able to develop a nuclear weapon and that the U.S. will use “all options” to stop it.
“Right now, we think it would take over a year or so for Iran to actually develop a nuclear weapon, but obviously we don’t want to cut it too close,” Obama told Israeli Channel 2.
North Korea, Iran's ally, seems to be hogging the headlines; purposefully making bold threats against a nation which could swat North Korea into oblivion. The dictators in the impoverished nation have been known for outlandish bravado to hold the developed nations hostage in order to receive welfare payments but now things have taken a more serious turn. With cease-fires cancelled and nuclear testing going on along with actual missile fire into Japanese sovereign waters North Korea has dramatically stepped things up - way up.
Add to that the close ties to Iran, which has reportedly purchased the technology and skills necessary to build their own nuclear weapons, and you've got all the makings for a classic axis of evil conspiracy.
Mike Bates, station manager for WEBY, Pensacola theorized recently on air that North Korea is making these outlandish threats for exactly that purpose - to draw American resources into the Pacific allowing Iran more breathing room to develop its own bomb.
"I have a theory about N. Korea" Bates said. "I think Iran is using N. Korea to pull military might into the Pacific to draw fire away from Iran."
If Mr Bates is correct will the US be ready and able to fight two wars at the same time? This may be quite short-sighted on the part of Persians however. Unless, of course, their goal is what some of us have suspected all along - to wipe out Israel and bring about the conditions ripe for the arrival of the Islamic Mahdi - the Muslim 'Messiah.' If that is their goal they may very well achieve it.
The Sixth Trumpet of the Book of Revelation prophesies that a war will emanate out of the Euphrates river, involve 200 million men, and a third of that number will be killed. This war appears to be imminent.
