In consideration of Islamist Jihadist's well established historical propensity for dedicating their dastardly deeds unto certain dates, it may well be informative to look at what the date April 15th represents in Islamic history if we hope to better understand our Islamic enemy.
It is a well-established fact that Muslims have an affinity for the salutation of anniversaries of military battles in their cult's history by the dedication of buildings, contingents of military units, and perhaps now we see an example of the dedication of another attack, to said praise-worthy―praise-worthy within their profane and perverse ideological worldview that is to say―previous military engagement or noteworthy Jihadist accomplishment by Islamist fighters.
Consider the Jihadist fighters who Obama's State Department had contracted to provide local security around the facility where Ambassador Stevens was taken prisoner: That military unit masking themselves as a personal security detail called themselves 'The February 17th Martyrs Brigade' in commemoration of another attack on a consulate in which their unit had engaged--the Italian consulate. "Following Friday prayers on Feb. 17, 2006, thousands of Benghazians attacked the Italian Consulate…." (Ms. West)
The brilliant investigative journalist Diana West exposed the insanity of hiring a group of Jihadists to guard a U.S. facility in Benghazi when she posits the question in her October 11, 2013 article 'Benghazi's Real Scandal: Uncle Sam Joined the Jihad,' on dianawest.net if the reader would "…have considered American interests and personnel best protected by bringing in a local security outfit called the February 17 Martyrs Brigade?" "We feared for our lives," the wife of the Italian consul later told the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera, describing the attack in which the consulate was set on fire. All personnel were safely evacuated. Libyan police used tear gas to try to disperse the rioters, later opening fire and killing 11 attackers.
These are the "martyrs" who serve as role models for the security team that was defending the U.S. Consulate." (Ms. West)
Ms. West arrives at a rational conclusion that would surely escape a typical Liberal when she suggests that "To an American with common sense not subverted by advanced degrees, the thought of putting Islamic "martyrs" in charge of American "infidels" in Benghazi―which, fun fact, literally means "city of holy warriors"―would trigger the inevitable "heck, no." And that's without even knowing what is significant about Feb. 17."
One can only wonder if the 'Feb. 17th Brigade' has yet changed their name to 'The September 11th Martyrs Brigade.'
September 11th was a very special date within the murderous Muslim mindset before the attack on the Twin Towers in New York.

The ISB Cultural Center, which is at a separate location, is even run by a group that federal prosecutors said in 2008 "was founded as the overt arm of the Muslim Brotherhood in America."
An ISB attendee reports last seeing Tsarnaev there during Ramadan last year. It is unclear if his brother, the other bomber, also attended the mosque. The ISB has links to the Muslim Brotherhood, has had radical leadership and promotes anti-Western themes.
For instance, the Islamic Society of Boston recently invited journalist Victoria Brittain to speak at the mosque, who in an article she wrote on MichaelMoore.com wrote that the War on Terror is a "war on Islam" and that Muslims in the West face widespread persecution. In her article, Brittain also criticized British security services who "returned to a post-9/11 stance on overdrive" in the aftermath of the 2005 London subway bombings, referred to as the "7/7″ attacks.
ISB teaching is largely based on Islamists like Muslim Brotherhood spiritual leader Yousef al-Qaradawi and Sayyid Qutb, the Brotherhood cleric who influenced Osama Bin Laden." (im41.com, April 20, 2013.)
Perhaps the following information might shed light on why the Massacre in Boston occurred on April 15th; perhaps the Boston Marathon was not the only reason for the date of the attack:

Often times there is significance attached to the date upon which Muslims choose to execute their murderous militant jihadist operations―a subtext to the metaphorical voice behind the acoustic report of the explosive device employed in one of their barbaric attacks that speaks louder than words.
April 15th may have been chosen, not only to conduct the attack during the Boston Marathon, but as a reiteration of the pan-Islamic insistence that so-called 'infidel' peoples 'withdraw their troops from Muslim nations.'
Apparently, when one considers Tamerlan Tsarnaev's words, that was the subtext of the message being sent this time by Saudi elements of Al Qaeda using Chechen mules as delivery boys.

"I said, 'What do you mean?' He said, 'I don't like it because they shouldn't be in Muslim countries.' The confluence of Tamerlan Tsarnaev's statement that he didn't like what America was doing―that he didn't think America should be in Muslim countries―then his attack taking place on April the 15th, and the date of Osama bin Laden offering his ultimatum to cease terrorist operations in European countries which withdraw their troops from Muslim nations on the very same date, April the 15th , may not be coincidental.
It may be a subtle signature of the Saudi, Wahhabist, Al Qaeda affiliated command and control element of the Boston Marathon attack: an Islamic homage to Osama's April 15th Jihadist ultimatum for the infidel to receive the Islamic conditional peace (a peace which by Islamic doctrine may not be permitted to last more than 10 years.) if he complies and evacuates the Islamic claimed territory in question.
Perhaps the reason for the Tsarnaev's mission was explained to them by their Saudi/Al Qaeda handler's and Tamerlan's statement was a reiteration of the justification he was indoctrinated into believing justified his Jihad. Perhaps his statement is a second hand signature pointing directly at the Saudi, Wahhabist, Al Qaeda command and control behind the bombing in Boston.
Though the date is not significant to those of a Western mindset, to suggest that Jihadists who revere their most famous martyr Osama bin Laden might not have deliberately attributed significance to the date as the date of their idolized martyr's issuance of an ultimatum is not a far-fetched assertion.
If we are going to defeat Islam we must at the very least understand how they think.
We must understand the totality of Islam if we intend to counter Civilization Jihad.
Conjecture you say? Consider the fact that a Saudi with known extensive associations to Al Qaeda within his own family was taken into police custody at the scene of the terrorist attack having been so close to the actual bombs that he received injuries which required hospitalization.
Consider to the name of the Saudi clan from which the suspected terrorist comes: The Al Harbi clan. Islam is divided into two camps among other sectarian divisions: the Al Islam, or 'House of Islam,' Muslims living in Muslim societies, and the Dal Harb, or 'House of War,' Muslims living in non-Muslim or 'Infidel' societies.
America gave a visa to a young man from Saudi Arabia whose very name is a dedication to waging war on the non-Muslim in their own land.
So the Saudi member of the 'House of War' family―infamous for its contribution to the murder and mayhem of the barbaric Al Qaeda Jihadist organization―is captured at the scene of the crime which took place on a date one could well argue was a commemoration of the Wahhabist hero of Al Qaeda Osama bin Laden―then Saudi government officials meet with Secretary of State Kerry and the usurper-in-chief Mister Barack Hussein Obama and arrange for his rapid deportation on grounds of "national security."
This is an outrage.
