Former NBA star Dennis Rodman is heading back to North Korea to try to secure the release of Kenneth Bae, an American citizen imprisoned there.

Rodman, who first visited North Korea in February, said he's taking on this duty, because President Barack Obama won't.

"We got a black president [who] can't even go talk to [Kim Jong Un]," Rodman told TMZ. "Obama can't do [expletive]. I don't know why he won't do it."

That leaves it up to the former NBA rebounding machine. "I'm gonna try to get the guy out," Rodman said. "It's gonna be difficult."

Bae was sentenced to 15 years hard labor in North Korea for allegedly plotting to overthrow the government.

Rodman hopes that his "friend" Kim will help him out when he visits in August. Rodman said he has "absolutely" been in touch with Kim, "through his people."
