Sorry but this is rubbish. Music is music, it matters in lyric content. God did not say anything in the Bible about music styles being evil, 'Stay away from the unholy rhythms of the Assyrians, or the evil melodic styles of...'

Everything different isn't demonic, and tradition is not above Scripture.

ReplyDeleteThere is a difference between expressing appropriate anger and submitting yourself to music which CAUSES the anger. Music IS a powerful force... and possibly one of the CAUSES for the 'state of the world'...

DeleteI have to agree that the fruit of the Spirit is not evident in the example played here. That is of a genre commonly referred to in the secular world as "death metal" and a little discernment is warranted before we buy into everything that calls itself "Christian" as good or holy. Much of it is not. Still, there's no specific style of music condoned in the Bible. Don't get me wrong- I actually hate the music presented. I think it's garbage. That being said, I can't find scripture to support a style. A lot of secular music is also good and poor.
ReplyDeleteHow in the world could one expect the Holy Spirit to move in an environment such as that church concert? I felt total chaos was the order of the day. God is about order, not chaos. I cannot see how this could be construed with Christian music, no matter how you try to condone it. It is horrid sounding and my God is about everything beautiful and lovely. Sorry folks, this is not of God.
