Only THIS YEAR - or 79,000 Years From Now!

Thanksgiving and the start of Hanukkah has created an extremely rare convergence this year.
The last time this happened since Thanksgiving was declared a federal holiday by President Lincoln was in 1888.

Some Jewish calendar reckonings say it won't happen for another 79, 043 years. Judging by the prophetic times in which we are now living - that is most likely an awfully remote possibility.

Since 1863, Thanksgiving and the first full day of Hanukkah  have not overlapped as reckoned by the Gregorian calendar. Jewish practice calls for the first candle of the eight-day Hanukkah (or Feast of Dedication) celebration to be lit the night before Thanksgiving Day this year, so technically Thanksgivukkah falls on the "second candle" night.

 

Hanukkah (or the Feast of Dedication) is actually mentioned in the New Testament. You will find it in John chapter 10 starting at the 1st verse. Jesus goes up to the temple and there declares himself to be God.  The Pharisees are so certain that this is what He has done, the proclaim, "You a mere man, claim to be God!"
