New study finds that one in 200 young American women claims to have experienced a virgin pregnancy - and also casts into doubt the trustworthiness of these studies!

(Newser) - An unbelievable-sounding new study finds that one in 200 young American women claims to have experienced a virgin pregnancy!

The US researchers looked into a long-term, confidential study about reproductive health, and found that 45 of the 7,870 women involved said they had become pregnant without ever having had vaginal intercourse or going through in-vitro fertilization, AFP reports. Of those, 31% had made a "chastity pledge" of the type popular among Christian groups. The research was published in the British Medical Journal.

A lead author explains: The subjects "weren't asked a question 'Have you had a virgin pregnancy?'" Rather, the findings were "put together from a series of questions about pregnancy history and vaginal intercourse history." She adds that it's possible some of the women "did not want to admit that they had intercourse," or perhaps misunderstood the questions, seeing as the results are rather "unrealistic."

She adds: "We actually found a few virgin fathers as well-which is a little harder to get your head around." LiveScience points out that the study's real finding is the problems inherent in researching sensitive information: "Scientists may still face challenges when collecting self-reported data on sensitive topics," despite taking precautions. This 'scientific' study casts into doubt not only the truthfulness of people in general but the trustworthiness of these types of so-called 'scientific' studies. Let this be a lesson to us all - when it comes to personal issues like this one the best approach is the biblical one.

This truth, exposed in this 'scientific' survey, shows us why it is that people lie about all manner of issues like family dynamics in their growing up years which lead to sexual preferences when they grow up. This is why we listen to people promoting the same-sex lifestyle when they appear on friendly talk shows. In doing this we learn, for example, that homosexual activist Dan Savage really does fit the 'gay recipe' theory perfectly as outlined by Dr James Dobson et al. Though Savage will deny this reality in other venues, he readily admitted it on CBC radio recently - a platform which is very much in his corner. Did Savage not know the microphone was turned on?

At the end of the day sinners sin - it's what they do - but they always (seem to) want their lifestyle choices to be accepted by the general population because otherwise there is the overriding guilt which dogs them continuously - a reminder that what they are doing is neither good nor morally acceptable - hence the recent attacks against Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson.
