More extensive information is now emerging regarding the alleged child molestation that took place  in the Josh Duggar family back in 2002 and 2003. A new police report, posted by In Touch magazine, discloses that Josh Duggar (the star of “19 Kids and Counting”) was 15 years old when he sexually fondled one of his younger sisters. We now know the little girl was 5 years old at the time.

Josh Duggar admitted, near the end of May, that he “acted inexcusably” when he was a teenager. His parents, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, called the sexual molestation a “dark and difficult time.” They claimed that this difficult time in their lives brought them closer to God.   The newly posted police report reveals that Josh Duggar began assaulting his sister in 2002, and that the assaults took place on multiple occasions, including an assault in March 2003.

According to the report, “ [JOSH (redacted)] was reading to his 5 year old sister and as she was sitting on his lap, he had touched her breasts and vaginal area.”

The report further states that his sister then told their father, Jim Bob, what Josh had done. The report says that shortly after the sister’s report to the dad, Josh was sent to a program to do manual labor.
TLC said they have “pulled all current episodes of ‘19 Kids and Counting.’ The latest information is that the network has yet to cancel the series altogether.

From the IN TOUCH magazine article, "The Washington County Sheriff’s document makes it clear that despite Josh’s chilling confessions the Duggars waited at least 16 months before contacting authorities about the molestations, even though the behavior was continuing and growing worse. During that period they did not get professional counseling for Josh or his victims. Legal experts tell In Touch that Jim Bob and Michelle could have faced six years in prison for their inaction, if the statute of limitations had not expired."

Carl Gallups says, "While I am NOT making any direct accusations in this particular case, I can say that as a former law enforcement officer and then spending 30 years in the ministry, dealing with these kinds of horrible situations - usually what we read in the news is only the tip of the iceberg that lies beneath the surface of the whole affair.  Usually, but not always (there ARE exceptions), when a case of child molestation is reported - one or more of several other factors also prove to be true:

1. There are more victims.  Rarely is the reported crime the molester's very first victim.

2. Often the molester - especially if he himself is young - has also been a victim of sexual molestation.

3.  Rarely does a young person involve themselves in molestation, especially against their own sibling, unless they have been molested  - or unless they have had a heavy exposure to pornography, or has witnessed molestation.

4. In the Duggar case - it is being reported that this police report was "leaked."  That is odd. Who leaked it? Why was it leaked? What does the leaker know about this case?

In the meantime we must pray fervently for ALL involved - especially the victims.
