ROCKFORD (WIFR) – We may never need our credit cards to buy groceries or gas as new technology some are calling the wave of the future allows us to use our palms for payment.

"I never thought we could do something like this with our hands."

Nick Liston works out at PEAK Sports Club nearly every day and while lifting weights gets his blood pumping, his blood vessels will help pay for his post-gym snack.

"Just to be able to walk up and pay with my hand, it's really convenient," says Liston.

It's the first cash register of its kind in the Midwest and it's right here in Rockford.

Inside the Thrive Café at the gym's Perryville location, owner Jason Rager says once we sign up, the pattern of our veins will be linked to our credit cards.

"You don't need your phone, your keys, a scan card, all you need is your hand," says Rager. (Source)

 

 

The company's creator out of New York says the device could change the future of retail and for customers like Liston, the future of technology could literally be in our hands.
