South Korea is preparing for its first Olympics since the 1988 Seoul Games, and athletes from more than 90 countries are expected to participate. Nikki Haley, America's ambassador to the United Nations, suggested that the United States' participation in next February's Winter Olympics in South Korea remains up in the air amid mounting provocations made by the North.
