AI, Robots, and Evolution - A Scientific Conundrum ...

Robotics, AI, and Evolution.

Evolution "Science" Takes Yet Another Nosedive

The other day I was thinking about the new advancements in robotics and artificial intelligence. Science is now feverishly working to "create" the most advanced form of "human-like" robots that it can produce. Their desire is to eventually make them practically indistinguishable from genuine humans. I do not think they will reach that particular goal, before the intervention of the Lord himself takes place.

I certainly can imagine the potential for the abject evil scenarios that may soon come our way, with the continued advancements in the fields of AI. Interestingly, it seems that the number ONE "reason" behind making them increasingly human-like is so that real humans might have sex with the artificial humans. I kid you not. The "days of Lot?" (Luke 17:26-30)

But that's not the point of this post. In my ponderings on the matter, it dawned on me. The more "advanced" that science - especially in the field of AI - becomes, the more ridiculous the pseudoscientific notion of evolution appears ... to anyone with a modicum of common sense.

Think about it. What “scientist” would dare to say that a life-like robot with advanced human-like intelligence simply “evolved” without intelligent input and an intelligent creator?  It’s absolutely impossible for that to happen.

For example, if I were to propose to an evolution “scientist” – as we attended a robotics symposium together – that the intelligence-possessing robots appeared at that exhibit as the result of billions of years of random “mutations” without any input from an outside intelligence - they would laugh me out of the building. Why? Because they would know that the statistical probabilities for an advanced AI robot to “appear” without intelligent input (from an actual and literal creator) are completely off the chart of scientific impossibility.

And if a mere robot is off the chart of impossibility to have been formed by randomness and by unintelligent “processes” then how much more impossible would it be that the humans, that created the robots and the AI, also appeared by random and unintelligent circumstances?  Again, off the chart.  It can’t happen. It never did happen. It never could happen.

At this point, a science denier (an evolutionist) might object by saying something like, "But a robot is made of material objects. They have no real life within them. Living things, on the other hand possess biological parts - parts that can mutate - and thus there is the possibility for evolution within those mutations."

To that objection I would respond, "Thank you! You have just proven my point even further. The truth is that humanity cannot "create" from nothing - a single living cell. We cannot manufacture a concoction of chemicals and biological materials that could produce even a single strand of workable DNA, much less a complex living organism.  Yet, we can manufacture physical materials from which we can construct a life-like robot - yet, no one with any intelligence at all would dare suggest that a robot (with non-living material that we can create) could have constructed itself ... even with billions of years and several lighting strikes thrown in the mix. So how can it be that something we cannot even come close to creating (life) DID evolve accidently?"

It seems the more that real and physically demonstrable science advances, the sillier the idea becomes that a random cosmic explosion led to humanity – not to mention the 30 million other species of life that inhabit our planet with us.

So, if robots with “almost-real” human intelligence cannot possibly happen without an intelligent designer and creator, how in the world could the human that created the robot have appeared from a chemical sludge pond that was formed from a random explosion in the cosmos?  To those of us with actual intelligence – the answer is obvious.

Romans 1:18-23

The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.

For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like a mortal human being and birds and animals and reptiles.
