HERE I STAND - Pastor Carl Gallups

I will stand in the Word of God because it has stood, on its own, for over 3,000 years.

It has stood through persecution, vicious assault, wars, revolutions, abject hatred; and constant maligning, misinterpretation, and slander. It still survives the pseudoscience of evolution, and the heretical "higher criticism" of "theological enlightenment." It has survived totalitarianism, communism, socialism, fascism, and every other "ism" that Satan has thrown at it. Simply put, the planet continues to witness - like it or not - the glorious truth that nothing can stop the Word of God.  And, as the ages march forth, its prophecies and instruction continue to unfold before the world like a beautiful and glorious flower that simply - supernaturally - refuses to die.

The Word of God has stood through the rising and falling of nations and empires, and it has presided at - or lived through - the funeral of every single unbeliever and detractor. They are all gone, answering back to their creator, yet the Word of God still stands. The Bible has literally and thoroughly changed the world like no other singular work the planet has ever witnessed. There is nothing that even comes close to it.

The Bible has stood in my life as a light and beacon, my strength and my hope - especially as I have determined in my heart to faithfully stand in it. Therefore, I will stand in the Word of God always and forever.  Whatever comes.

For this reason, I am unashamed to say: "I approach life through a biblical world view. If you ask my opinion on any of the deep issues of life and the constantly shifting politically correct mantras of our day, I'll respond by telling you ... 'I come from a decidedly biblical worldview .... so yes ... I can tell you what the Word of God says about the subject you have just raised...are you still interested in hearing?'"

Most importantly, I will stand on the Word of God, above all other "words and works" because that same Word ... lovingly, and unbelievably, became flesh. That glorious Word became flesh in the person of Jesus Christ - Lord and Savior. The same Word that spoke in the beginning "Let It Be!" became a human being ... and sacrificially offered me salvation and an eternal future with Him.

So...I will stand on the Word of God. It's not going anywhere. Where else would I stand? In the halls of Satan? On the sinking sand of constantly changing societal norms and whims? Will I stand on the fickle opinions and mere philosophies of simple, and dying, mortals?  No... I'll stand only on the Word of God.  It lives. It always has, and it always will.
