Rubio grenades VP chance with illegal immigration support - Pawlenty moves to top of list

Tim Pawlenty during a campaign stop at Cornwall Iron Furnace, on Saturday, June 16, 2012, in Cornwall, Pa. | AP PhotoTim Pawlenty has jumped to the top of the vice presidential shortlist of several Mitt Romney advisers after emerging as the most effective — and well-liked — surrogate for the GOP nominee-to-be, according to several Republicans familiar with campaign deliberations.

The former Minnesota governor has impressed top Romney officials with his winning onstage presence at a grueling roster of Republican events throughout the country and with his low-maintenance personal style that has made him a favorite with the campaign’s tight-knit inner circle at the Boston headquarters.

Romney gets "significant" support from homosexual group

A national group of gay conservatives has endorsed presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney, the organization announced Wednesday.
The executive board for GOProud, a group founded by two former members of the Log Cabin Republicans, Christopher Barron and Jimmy LaSalvia, voted Tuesday to make an official endorsement.
Founded in 2009 with both gay and straight members, GOProud ran ads against Democrats in the midterm elections and is preparing another ad campaign on behalf of Romney this cycle.
"GOProud is prepared to commit significant resources to help make Mitt Romney the next president of the United States," said Lisa De Pasquale, interim chair of the GOProud board of directors and the former director of the Conservative Political Action Conference.

Romney: Marco Rubio IS being vetted for VP job

Mitt Romney told reporters in Michigan that Florida Sen. Marco Rubio is being looked at as his possible running mate, adding that a news story out today about the Tea Party favorite not being vetted was "entirely false."

"Marco Rubio is being thoroughly vetted as part of our process," Romney said during a campaign stop in Holland, Mich.

ABC News reported yesterday that the freshman senator was not being vetted to be Mitt Romney's running mate. The report cited "knowledgeable sources."

Romney gets Bilderberg endorsement

STAMFORD -- The next city fundraiser for Mitt Romney's campaign will come with a view.
Trump Parc on Broad Street, a luxury high-rise condominium and the tallest building in the city skyline, is the latest Stamford spot for the Republican campaign's fundraising efforts. The July 12 event will feature two guests of honor -- the presidential candidate's brother, G. Scott Romney, and former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, senior member of the elitist Bilderberg society.

STUNNER - GOP delegates sue to be free from Romney

Don't count your delegates before they're hatched, Mr. Romney.

The Republican Party is being sued by over 120 GOP delegates who say campaigns have been conducted "like organized crime syndicates."

Charges include "threats of violence," certification of "unlawful slates of delegates," forced "affidavits of loyalty to Romney under penalty of perjury and even altered ballot results to make sure the national convention is stacked with delegates who will vote for Romney."

Just in time for the 40th anniversary of the Watergate scandal ...

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Senator Rand Paul, whose firebrand father Ron has effectively ended his White House bid but still seeks to grow his movement and influence Republicans nationally, endorsed party nominee Mitt Romney on Thursday.
Rand Paul is a conservative Tea Party favorite mentioned as a possible Romney vice presidential pick for the November election. He told the "Hannity" program on Fox News that the time was right to back Romney publicly.

Romney family no stranger to eligibility problems

Records in a George Romney archive at the University of Michigan describe how questions about his eligibility to be president surfaced almost as soon as he began his short-lived campaign.
In many ways, they appear to echo today's complaints that Trump and some other conservative "birthers" have made about Obama while questioning whether Obama - whose father was from Kenya and mother was from Kansas - was born in Hawaii.

Michelle Bachmann Prophecy - "Romney CAN'T Win" - Becomes Swiss Citizen

UPDATE at bottom of page!

Can Mitt Romney beat Barack Obama in the general election? Not according to Michelle Bachmann's prophetic projections.

In response to a question in December by ABC's Jonathan Karl, Bachmann said unequivocally that Romney could not win in a general election against President Obama. "No, he cannot beat Obama because his policy is the basis for Obamacare," she said. "The signature issue of Obama is Obamacare. You can't have a candidate who has given the blueprint for Obamacare. It's too identical. It's not going to happen."

He's not sufficiently anti-abortion.

During a December appearance on CBS's Early Show, Bachmann hit Romney for "significant flaws" in his pro-life record. "Romney and Gingrich, both of them have significant flaws that don’t represent what the people of Iowa are looking for, particularly on the life issue," she said. "Mitt Romney has been on the side of abortion [and] same-sex marriage."

He's a socialist.

While addressing the Family Research Council in November, Bachmann claimed Romney has socialist leanings. "Unfortunately for too many Republicans, they also aspire to be frugal socialists," she said. "The reason President Obama and some Republicans can get behind socialized medicine is because they share the same core political philosophy about the purpose of government."

"We cannot preserve liberty if the choice is between a frugal socialist and an out-of-control socialist."

He's a 'chameleon.'

In December, Bachmann hit Romney as being "very inconsistent" at a campaign stop in Florida. "My position here is to bring clarity. It's not to be negative but to bring clarity. That's what the voters are looking for. They're not interested in a chameleon."

He's a crony capitalist.

On MSNBC's "Morning Joe" in December, Bachmann described Romney as a "consummate insider." She called former presidential candidate Newt Gingrich "the poster child for crony capitalism," and said that Romney was "cut out of the same cloth."

Now it has been revealed that after decades of being married to a Swiss national, making her eligible for Swiss citizenship, she has finally decided to take advantage of this opportunity and hasn't ruled out running for political office in the land of coo-coo clocks.

But why now? Could it be that she only endorsed Romney in order to avoid any blame when Romney fails to bring the White House back into Republican control? Is Michelle Bachann preparing to abandon ship?

(CNN) - Proud American citizen Michele Bachmann now has another country to call home: Switzerland.

The Minnesota congresswoman and former GOP presidential candidate was granted dual citizenship with the European country, her spokeswoman confirmed Tuesday night.

UPDATE!  May 10/2012

The Minnesota congresswoman asked the Swiss government Thursday to withdraw her citizenship, saying she wanted to make it clear that she was a proud U.S. citizen.

Obama Could Use Mormonism's Racist Heritage Against Romney

(photo - mittromneycentral.com)

As the results of a new FOX NEWS poll are released and the outcome reveals Romney edges out Obama in the general, how far would Barack Obama go to win? Or rather, how big of a race card would he be willing to play?

As most people are now aware, Mitt Romney is a Mormon. We believe that since there is no religious test to hold the office of President of the United States, all persons, no matter what their religious affiliation is, should vote on the grounds of conservatism versus liberalism. Honestly, that is the battle ground here. It all boils down to those two ideologies.

But the issue of the President's faux "christianity" has surfaced in this election year and, in the minds of some, could be considered fair game going forward. Should the Romney machine be worried? Well, in a word, yes.

People look to founders of groups, governments, and even religions to determine the historical intent and purpose behind it. You can look to the founders of the Boy Scouts, for example, and discuss how closely or how far from the original intent they are today.

We can, and do, look to the writing of the "founders" who drafted the US Constitution to consider their intent and thereby make judgments accordingly. The very same can be said for Mitt Romney's religion: Mormonism.

Mitt Romney is a Mormon. The name comes from their constitution - The Book of Mormon. And who wrote the Book of Mormon? - Joseph Smith. If one is to understand the foundation of Mitt Romney's world view one is forced to examine its constitution and the writings of its founder.

A debate between Barack Obama and Mitt Romney would be a lulz-fest for sure. Biblically neither one can lay claim to being a Christian, yet both of them would likely do it anyway. It would probably be a battle over which one was the least opposed to the teachings of scripture.

With Obama trailing in some polls (a dynamic easily reversed should a popular war break out) he may be forced to play hard-ball with Romney and suggest, God forbid, that Romney is a member of a faith structure which was founded by a racist.

Early Mormonism had a range of policies and doctrines relating to race in regard to black people of African descent. References to black people, their social condition during the 19th century, and their spiritual place in Western Christianity as well as Mormon scriptures were complicated, with varying degrees and forms of discrimination against black people.

Smith believed that the curse of Canaan was blackness of skin (Gen 9:25-27).

"Trace the history of the world from this notable event down to this day, and you will find the fulfillment of this singular prophecy. What could have been the design of the Almighty in this wonderful occurrence is not for me to say; but I can say that the curse is not yet taken off the sons of Canaan, neither will be until it is affected by as great power as caused it to come; and the people who interfere the least with the decrees and purposes of God in this matter, will come under the least condemnation before him; and those who are determined to pursue a course which shows an opposition and a feverish restlessness against the designs of the Lord, will learn, when perhaps it is too late for their own good, that God can do his own work without the aid of those who are not dictate by his counsel." (Joseph Smith Jr., Messenger and Advocate Vol. II, No. 7, April 1836, p. 290; History of the Church, Vol. 2, Ch. 30, pp. 436–40.)
Joseph Smith's views of the true nature of the African American, according to the modern view, may be seen in the following exchange:
Elder Hyde inquired about the situation of the negro. I replied, they came into the world slaves mentally and physically. Change their situation with the whites, and they would be like them. They have souls, and are subjects of salvation. Go into Cincinnati or any city, and find an educated negro, who rides in his carriage, and you will see a man who has risen by the powers of his own mind to his exalted state of respectability. The slaves in Washington are more refined than many in high places, and the black boys will take the shine of many of those they brush and wait on.
Elder Hyde remarked, "Put them on the level, and they will rise above me." I replied, if I raised you to be my equal, and then attempted to oppress you, would you not be indignant and try to rise above me, as did Oliver Cowdery, Peter Whitmer, and many others, who said I was a fallen Prophet, and they were capable of leading the people, although I never attempted to oppress them, but had always been lifting them up? Had I anything to do with the negro, I would confine them by strict law to their own species, and put them on a national equalization." (History of the Church, Volume 5, p. 216)
Too bad Smith never received a "revelation" on the story or Moses' wife - the Ethiopian - a black woman. Numbers chapter 12 tell the story of Moses' brother and sister, Miriam and Aaron, who were also racists, and in whom God was not pleased.

Numbers 12:1 ¶And Miriam and Aaron spake against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman whom he had married: for he had married an Ethiopian woman.
2 And they said, Hath the LORD indeed spoken only by Moses? hath he not spoken also by us? And the LORD heard it.
3 (Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.)
4 ¶And the LORD spake suddenly unto Moses, and unto Aaron, and unto Miriam, Come out ye three unto the tabernacle of the congregation. And they three came out.
5 And the LORD came down in the pillar of the cloud, and stood in the door of the tabernacle, and called Aaron and Miriam: and they both came forth.
6 And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the LORD will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream.
7 My servant Moses is not so, who is faithful in all mine house.
8 With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of the LORD shall he behold: wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?
9 And the anger of the LORD was kindled against them; and he departed.
10 ¶And the cloud departed from off the tabernacle; and, behold, Miriam became leprous, white as snow: and Aaron looked upon Miriam, and, behold, she was leprous.
But alas this is the least of the problems with Mormon doctrine. It's no small wonder, really, that they struggled with such things as skin color when they couldn't (and still can't) properly identify who Jesus is. Mormonism even today teaches that Jesus is the spirit-brother of Lucifer, that everything, including spirit-beings like God himself, are physical and everything there is, including God, exists in nature. They teach that God was once a man like us and that we, one day, can be a god and have our own planet.

But what can we say about this as it relates to the 2012 election? If he gets desperate enough could he play this race card? Well, not directly perhaps, but with Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson and Louis Farrakhan out there he may not have to. Should Mitt Romney be worried about this? Of course. You see, after Joseph Smith came Brigham Young, a staunch racist who took Smith's reservations about black people to a whole new level and banned all black men from the Mormon "priesthood". Mormonism, Mitt Romney's faith world view, has a long history of racism. And if the gloves come off on matters of a religious nature, well, it could get ugly, brother.

Canadian Group Yanks Santorum Endorsement

It was a protest endorsement anyway when the facebook group "Canadians United Against the Re-election of Barack Obama" endorsed Rick Santorum to be the Presidential candidate for the Republican Party. The choices were, and still are, pretty slim.

Yet recent events have led us to revoke our support for Rick, mainly because under the stress of a campaign he apparently cracked and said the most outlandish thing at the worst possible time.

Presidential candidate Rick Santorum on Thursday said Republicans should give President Barack Obama another term if Santorum isn’t the GOP nominee and for a second day compared rival Mitt Romney to an Etch A Sketch toy.

Ok - it seems to me that someone forgot to change the batteries in the filter between Rick's brain and his mouth. Not only does Romney have the support of many conservative thinkers, he will also be held accountable by his base. Obama is also being held accountable by his base. Get it?

So even though Mitt the "javelin" has some less-than-conservative past dealings to answer for, he will have some very conservative supporters to answer to!

Let us hope that Limbaugh is correct and that finally we're seeing a new, conservative Mitt Romney rising from the primary ashes... but please leave the white horse at home!

Why Candidates Should NOT Bow Out til Convention

Today, March 13th is primary day in several states in America. 116 delegates are up for grabs—including 49 in Alabama, 38 in Mississippi, 20 in Hawaii and 9 in American Samoa. But none of the states are "winner take all"—which means there is little opportunity for Santorum or Gingrich to make big gains on Romney as long as the front-runner finishes a close second or third place.

However the call by many pundits for everyone but Mitt to drop out now (or sooner) boggles the mind somewhat; as though today' primaries shouldn't mean anything. Conservative bloggers and others opining in the op/ed sections of newspapers and radio shows would deny the voters of the remaining states their right to cast their vote for their "man".

In the past, there have been far worse primary seasons and we need only look to the recent past for some very juicy material to make our point. The Democrat primary race of '08 was, for lack of a better word, nasty! Who could ever forget the rivalry between Hillary and Barack? Yet, when it came right down to the wire, a deal was made behind closed doors and Obama became the nominee and won the general.

So let us, as conservatives, not allow the liberal democrat pundits plant seeds of discontent into the minds of the republican electorate. Let us allow the voters to make their choice in every state and carry the race to the end... no matter where it leads. After all, it's an election!

Obama Campaign Attacks American Job Producer Koch Brothers

In today's email from the official campaign to re-elect Barack Obama, Julianna Smoot - Deputy Campaign Manager for Obama for America attacked one of the largest tax payers and philanthropists in the country, namely, the Koch Brothers.

The Koch family of industrialists and businessmen is most notable for their control of Koch Industries, the second largest privately owned company in the United States. The family business was started by Fred C. Koch, who developed a new cracking method for the refinement of heavy oil into gasoline. Fred's four sons became involved in litigation against each other in the 1980s and 1990s. According to the Koch Family Foundations and Philanthropy website, "the foundations and the individual giving of Koch family members" have financially supported organizations "fostering entrepreneurship, education, human services, at-risk youth, arts and culture, and medical research."

And these guys are the target in today's email from Obama's campaign HQ. Here is the pertinent text from the email:

Tomorrow Mitt Romney is hanging out with the billionaire Koch brothers at a Tea Party forum. I imagine they'll get along. When Romney set up his "One-Term Fund," he reminded his supporters "what this election is really about: defeating Barack Obama." One week earlier, at a private retreat, the Koch brothers and 300 of their allies pledged to pitch in at least 100 million dollars toward that same goal. A source present at the Koch brothers' retreat last month told a journalist that the Kochs' annual secret meeting "used to be about 'conservative strategy' and building a movement, but now it was mostly an 'alpha male' spectacle focused on fundraising to beat Obama." After previously calling the election the "mother of all wars," they've now pledged to spend $200 million.
I imagine they'll get along? What's that supposed to mean? Let' face it: while the Koch Brothers may be gunning for Obama it is only because Obama has been gunning for them since the beginning. The Koch family knows how to be successful in life. They know what what invention, effort, and reward look like as a package also known as capitalism; a strategy which works every time it is implemented. Want to eradicate poverty, lift a culture out of depravity, or see the prosperity index rise in any situation? Implement capitalism mixed with conservatism and you've got yourself a wining combination.

Yet the Obama group hates it when private enterprise has the answers instead of big government. He wants to be the savior, the messiah people turn to for the answers. He hates self determination and he despises the great examples which America has produced over the centuries.

The attack is not limited to the Koch family but included Romney as well. That is to be expected. But attacking private firms the government is supposed to be safeguarding for jobs and financial security is a line no president should cross. Yet another one of many lines this president is happy to ignore.
