Ford’s new Shelby GT500 Mustang has surpassed all expectations, bringing with it a brand new supercharged V-8 displacing 5.8 liters and developing no less than 650 horsepower.
Yes, you read that correctly. That’s 12 whole horsepower more than the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 and 70 horsepower more than its closest rival, the upcoming Camaro ZL1. Heck, it’s even got 80 more horsepower than a Ferrari 458 Italia!

The Camaro is built in Canada at the Oshawa Ontario plant near Toronto. The war may be on apparently and it's a good one at that. America (including Canada) was built on the premise that minds should be busy inventing better innovations because innovation and creativity is man's highest ability and most useful gift from a very creative God who created the entire universe. If a person is to be truly Godly that person would have to be an innovator.
Getting 650 horse power out of a V-8 engine is an enormous task. Consider the Bugatti Veyron which boasts more than 1000 hp but requires 16 cylinders to make it happen. The Veyron would need an additional 300 hp to match the Mustang achievement.
So now it's the Canadian Camaro's turn. Are they up for the challenge? Can they meet or surpass the 650 hp bar? Maybe - maybe not. But one thing is for sure: the closed tracks around the US will be buzzing with these new Fords breaking records and maybe, just maybe, they'll be seeing these cars on the Germany's Autobahn? Look out Europe, that is, unless, Obama thinks Americans are just too lazy to make it across the pond.
