Earlier this week Obama's campaign manager Jim Messina released an email wherein he launched the official attack against Romney and the Tea Party saying "for them, it's all about beating one man and sending his family packing from the White House" as though there aren't any real issues to be concerned about. And today his deputy, Julianna Smoot, reiterated the message playing on the "stop picking on me" strategy begun by her boss.
Included in the email was an attack against the Tea Party implying the only reason they are against Obama is a personal dislike saying "It's also clear that there's lots of money to be raised from far-right Tea Party types appealing to a very personal dislike of Barack Obama". The undertones of that sentence are dark and suspicious with the possible intent of allowing people to insert their own interpretations be they of a racist nature or whatever one chooses.
So now the direction of the campaign becomes less hazy - play on the bleeding hearts of the prevailing liberal mentality which got him elected in the first place. "The Republicans don't like me - they are haters , bigots, fear mongers and homophobes". It will all come down to sophistry over substance - accusation over evidence - and whining over relevance. This election will test the intelligence of America as a whole - their ability to see through the drama and examine what really matters to their country and by extension the world. Barack Obama and his worldview are not worthy to hold the office of President and it shouldn't matter what anyone feels about it.
