Obama Campaign Slams "Far Right Tea Party Types" in Cry-baby email

Man - you could almost hear Jim Messina, Campaign Manager for Obama for America, weeping as he wrote the latest email to the Obama for America "supporters" the other day. We've been watching the info coming out of the campaign headquarters and this one not only attacks regular Americans who make up the majority of the Tea Party movement (regular because the movement is conservative and most Americans live conservative lives) but also makes the wrong assumption that the Tea Party is backing Mitt Romney whole heartily.

There are many within the Tea Party movement who would only vote for Mitt Romney by way of last resort and some who would rather vote for a third party conservative rather than ever vote for a backer of socialized medicine among other liberal ideologies. Messina has also assumed the race for the GOP nod is over and it is not over... yet.

But the Obama campaign has assumed Romney will be the one who goes up against Obama in November. Here is how the email opens:

Friend --
Here's what Mitt Romney said after he won the Florida Republican primary last night:
"While we celebrate this victory, we must not forget what this election is really about ..."
... What do you think he said? Not getting the economy moving. Not keeping America safe. Not improving people's lives.
"While we celebrate this victory, we must not forget what this election is really about: defeating Barack Obama."
Then he launched a "One-Term Fund" drive to get his backers to contribute $1 million to make Barack Obama a one-term president
.

Boo hoo. You'll see in a moment that Messina is playing the "stop picking on me" card here; trying to set up Obama as someone who's only fault is that he's disliked by the right and that there's no other tangible qualities about him and his administration which warrant his removal from the Oval Office ASAP. They have decided to respond to Romney's "One Term" fund with their own "two term" fund... very clever.

That's not how it's going to be. So I just had the team create a "Two-Term Fund" page on BarackObama.com that's going to track our progress to a $2 million goal. Most importantly, we're going to show the number of people giving to make it happen.
Messina then goes on to say something quite odd. He points out that:

It may not take the Romney camp very long to get to a million -- they announced today that just 9 percent of their money comes from donors giving less than $200.
Wait a minute! The Obama for America website makes the effort to point out to all the visitors that donations under $200 are untraceable. One can almost imagine in the theater of the mind a wink and a nod coming from Obama himself. And they have the nerve to suggest something nefarious going on with the Romney camp!

From Barackobama.com:
Federal law requires us to use our best efforts to collect and report the name, mailing address, occupation, and employer of individuals whose contributions exceed $200 in an election cycle.
In other words - even though you can`t give more than $2500 we are not required to seek discovery of the identify of donors who give less than $200 (wink wink). And here`s where the whining comes in. From Messina:

It's also clear that there's lots of money to be raised from far-right Tea Party types appealing to a very personal dislike of Barack Obama. When Romney tells a reporter that we need a president "who believes in American principles" or that President Obama will be just a "footnote in history," that's who he's talking to.
Tea Party types with a `` very personal dislike of Barack Obama``, eh! Here`s where the campaign narrative becomes very obvious. Messina lets the cat out of the bag with this next paragraph:
For them, it's all about beating one man and sending his family packing from the White House. Everything else the Republicans say or do is just means to that end.

Right Jim - it`s all about the Tea Party types beating up the President and his family and throwing them out of the White House. We`re surprised he didn`t use the word black man. Perhaps in another forthcoming email.

Finally Messina makes a startling admission. He actually suggests that the majority of the money raised by the Obama campaign is untraceable.

Our campaign is different. It's about bringing people together to protect the progress we've made and make a lot more in a second term. And 98 percent of the donations people like you make to this campaign are $250 or less.
Given that, as their very own website points out, the campaign is not obligated to discover who is giving these donations they could be coming from a single person (George Soros for example) or they could be coming from overseas (illegal campaign donations). Monies donated to US political campaigns are not tax deductible so the incentive here is obvious. And the Obama campaign goon has just admitted that 98% of the money they receive could potentially be illegal. This admission goes hand-in-hand with Obama`s entire presidency. He is potentially an illegal president (see Georgia eligibility hearings) and now we learn that 98% of the money donated to the Obama campaign could potentially be illegally donated. Anyone seeing a trend here yet!

In closing the email from Messina states that Romney receives only 9% of his funding from donations under $200. Upon further examination it should be realized by all that according to Obama, Romney is getting the majority of his money from successful people giving traceable donations. The contrast couldn`t be more obvious.

  1. So BOs supporters are big corporations that are sending one-time donations of 250 dollars over and over and over.
