John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” 1st Timothy 1:15, “This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.”
I didn't get from his answers that his mother was "overbearing" I think the abscent father is more important in this equation. Because naturally if the father is abscent the mother has to fill the void as the authority figure. To call her "overbearing", is unfair.
