Motorola has announced it is looking at alternatives to traditional passwords in a bid to make logging into online sites, or accessing mobile phones, more secure.
Among the ideas discussed at the D11 conference in California on Wednesday were electronic tattoos and authentication pills that people swallow.
The tattoos, developed by Massachusetts-based engineering firm MC10, contain flexible electronic circuits that are attached to the wearer's skin using a rubber stamp.
A researcher at the University of Illinois used standard CMOS semiconductor computer chip technologies to create the Biostamp.
It uses high-performance silicon and can stretch up to 200 per cent.
The Biostamp can monitor temperature, hydration and strain, among other medical statistics
The first prototypes were stuck on using an plaster-style patches.
More recent prototypes are applied directly to the skin using a rubber stamp.
It can then be covered with spray-on bandage to make it more durable and waterproof enough to wash.
Q: "are the green ones all US military?"
Driver: "yup!"
Q: "are they all for domestic use?"
Driver: "yes - we're delivering them to bases inside the country"
Q: "why do you think they need so many?"
Driver: "they're planning something big, obviously"
A series of Muslim Outreach Summits are planned coast-to-coast by the Obama administration to get feedback from Muslims on how the government can better serve them and their specific desires.
The president's adopted home town of Chicago will be the first stop.
WND initially discovered documents referring to the Muslim summits while examining a U.S. Department of Education procurement of data-gathering and report-writing services.
The services are specific to information being assembled by the White House Initiative on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, or WHIAAPI, which Obama created via executive order in 2009.
Upon closer inspection, however, WND learned that the Education Department explicitly will direct the selected contractor to chronicle findings and recommendations gleaned from the Muslim Outreach Summits.
The White House views this year's venues as an extension of a previous outreach to "new immigrants and refugees – some of the most underserved in the AAPI community," according to a document titled "WHIAAPI 2013 Faith-Based and Community Engagement."
Complementing the prior effort will be the three "regional convenings," tentatively scheduled June 15 in Chicago, June 22 in San Francisco and June 29 in New York City.

Father Gabriele Amorth, 88, who also heads the International Association of Exorcists, told The Sunday Times that he will ask Pope Francis to allow all priests the right to do exorcisms without the church's approval. According to the report, priests currently need special approval from their bishop to perform the rite and it is rarely granted.
"I will ask the pope to give all priests the power to carry out exorcisms, and to ensure priests are properly trained for these starting with the seminary. There's a huge demand for them," said Father Amorth.
He explained that he was inspired to make the request after watching Pope Francis perform what he insists was an exorcism on a man "possessed by four demons" in St. Peter's Square.
PASADENA, Calif. -- A sequence of radar images of asteroid 1998 QE2 was obtained on the evening of May 29, 2013, by NASA scientists using the 230-foot (70-meter) Deep Space Network antenna at Goldstone, Calif., when the asteroid was about 3.75 million miles (6 million kilometers) from Earth, which is 15.6 lunar distances.
The radar imagery revealed that 1998 QE2 is a binary asteroid. In the near-Earth population, about 16 percent of asteroids that are about 655 feet (200 meters) or larger are binary or triple systems. Radar images suggest that the main body, or primary, is approximately 1.7 miles (2.7 kilometers) in diameter and has a rotation period of less than four hours. Also revealed in the radar imagery of 1998 QE2 are several dark surface features that suggest large concavities. The preliminary estimate for the size of the asteroid's satellite, or moon, is approximately 2,000 feet (600 meters) wide. The radar collage covers a little bit more than two hours.
The radar observations were led by scientist Marina Brozovic of NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena, Calif.

What happened to SEAL Team Six? The most serious scandal of all

The media is now consistently referring to three scandals engulfing the Obama presidency, even using a shorthand expression such as a "trifecta" of troubling incidents. Yet, there is a scandal brewing that is worse than the Department of Justice violating freedom of the press, the Internal Revenue Service abusing its power and four Americans left to die at the hands of jihadists in Benghazi, Libya.
Navy SEAL Team Six, the heroic unit that killed Osama Bin Laden in Pakistan in May 2011, is in grave danger due to the reckless actions of the Obama administration. The parents of three SEALs recently said the government bears criminal culpability in the deaths of their sons.
They are calling for a congressional investigation into the Aug. 6, 2011 helicopter crash in Afghanistan that resulted in 38 deaths, including 7 members of the Afghan National Army, an Afghan interpreter, 15 SEAL Team Six members, 2 members of West Coast SEAL and other U.S. troops. A rocket-propelled grenade struck the helicopter, causing the fatal crash. It was the deadliest day for America in the Afghan war.

PHOENIX - A campaign to force a recall election against the polarizing sheriff of metropolitan Phoenix has failed.
Organizers of the recall effort against Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio say they didn't gather the more than 335,000 valid voter signatures needed by 5 p.m. Thursday to force a recall election.
They said they didn't turn in the collected signatures because they didn't want the county to waste taxpayer money trying to verify signatures if they didn't hit their mark.
The recall group struggled to raise funds, had to rely on a mostly volunteer workforce to collect signatures and mounted a campaign against a politician who has a base of devoted supporters.
Arpaio supporters say the sheriff won his sixth term in November fair and square.
Allen West Describes Himself as "A Trusted Voice"

(May 30, 2013) — Former Rep. Allen B. West, U.S. Army (Ret)., joined PJMedia in January and now has an office in Washington, DC, where he will be reporting on politics for PJMedia.
West is also directing a division of PJMedia, NextGeneration.TV. In April, Fox News announced that he had been hired as a political commentator.
West served one term in Congress after being elected in 2010 but was replaced by Patrick Murphy in a contested race this past November. Initially West challenged the results and took legal action but abandoned his bid for a full recount just before Thanksgiving.
TruetheVote.org, which applied to the IRS three years ago for non-profit status and claims to have been a target of now-public politically-motivated extra scrutiny, recently was awarded the ability to inspect voting records from the 2012 West-Murphy race. The organization, which aims to raise public awareness about election issues, particularly election integrity, has filed a lawsuit against the IRS for alleged "damages for the unlawful actions by the IRS in the processing of its application for exempt status."
Upon the announcement of his new endeavor with NextGeneration.TV, West said, "True leaders do not need a title, just a conviction, a cause, and the character enabling them to make a stand," referring to the fact that he no longer served in Congress.
West had attended the Conservative Political Action Conference in mid-March, during which Pastor Carl Gallups and Det. Michael Zullo had approached him about the evidence compiled by the Maricopa County, AZ Cold Case Posse, of which Zullo was the lead investigator, which revealed that the long-form birth certificate posted on the White House website more than two years ago bearing Obama's name is a forgery.
When Zullo asked West if he would assist in bringing the forgery to the level of public awareness, West refused, citing his "future political aspirations." During an interview between West and radio show host Tammy Bruce, West stated that "there is no doubt" that he is planning on re-entering politics in 2016.
In an interview with BuzzFeed, West said that "folks still believe that I'm a trusted voice."
While West and others continue to fight Obama on his policies alone, The Post & Email asks West and news outlets unwilling to raise the question, "How can Obama be considered a legitimate president and commander-in-chief with only a fraudulent birth certificate offered by the White House as positive identification?" While it is possible that Obama is a "natural born Citizen" as required by Article II of the U.S. Constitution, Obama has shown no evidence of his eligibility or citizenship, and there are multiple inconsistencies in his public life story.
Det. Zullo has asked those aware of the fraudulent birth certificate to ask themselves why it would have been published on the White House website with the attempt "to deceive."
West says that he is "standing up for our future." Through his political organization committee, the Allen West Guardian Fund, West states that "We must ensure conservative leaders are elected who will stand as guardians of our constitutional republic…"
Following the encounter with West at CPAC, Gallups posted on the PPSimmons website:
I've never seen anything like this in all my previous years in law enforcement. I have never heard of congressmen, courts, or federal law enforcement officials completely ignoring, refusing to investigate, or even look at the evidence that another law enforcement agency has investigated concerning possible criminal activity coming directly out of the White House. Remember Watergate? Remember Monica? This situation and the possible implications and ramifications of it, pales in comparison to Watergate and Monica. This situation goes directly to the Constitution and the real identity of the Commander in Chief – yet few who are constitutionally responsible for examining the evidence will even do so…for fear of future political aspirations.
