Sharpton, Beyonce rail against 'racial injustice' only miles away
It started out Friday with teasing, then taunting. But when the young Hispanic woman behind the counter told the black man and his friends she did not want to go out with them, it escalated into assault that finished with gunshots hitting five of her family members.
At the same time as, a few miles away, Al Sharpton and Beyonce were at a rally, railing against racial injustice toward young black men.
We don't know the names of these alleged would-be killers. Not yet. Nor would we have a description of the mob if we had to rely on the New York Post or New York Daily News. The NBC News affiliate told that part of the story: Police are now searching for five black men and one black woman for allegedly shooting the woman's family as they gathered beneath a tree on a hot Brooklyn afternoon.
