Ephesians 6:10 through 18 reveals the Armor of God. The purpose of the Armor is the success of the Christian soldier during battle. God's will for His soldiers are to be the victors. God provides the belt of truth (knowledge of the Word of God), the breast plate of righteousness (living holy so we have the power of God functional in our lives) and our feet covered with the gospel (good news) of peace.
The good news of peace is fourfold.
1. We have PEACE WITH GOD as a result of our initial salvation experience. Romans 5:1. This give us the "power of attorney" to speak on behalf of God and go to war with evil forces with the confidence that God is with us.
2. We have the PEACE OF GOD as a result of our worship relationship with God and our active prayer life. Philippians 4:7. The peace of God allow us to enter spiritual battles with confidence knowing we are experienced in hearing the voice of God as he directs us.
3. We have PEACE WITH OURSELVES. Romans 14:22. This allows us to concentrate our energy on the spiritual fight rather than invested our energy in self-doubt about our qualifications to enter the battle.
4. We have PEACE WITH OTHERS. (Romans 12:81). This allows us to fight the enemy with a clean conscience because we wrong no man.
When we fight the good fight against the tricks and plans of the devil our chances of success are extremely high when we know the Word, hear the voice of our Leader, can concentrate our energy for the battle and fight with a clear conscience.
The gates of hell cannot stand against us. Matthew 16:18. Christians, fight! The victory is ours if we fight in full armor. Our defeat is guaranteed if we do not fight. Fight!
