There is nothing new about human beings justifying evil. It is as old as the history of Adam and Eve. Eve tried to justify her sin by blaming the devil. Adam tried to justify his sin by blaming Eve.

Over the years, I have done a lot of marriage counseling. In every case, once the cause of the marital discord is uncovered, the husband or the wife is faced with accepting responsibility for his or her sin, blaming someone else or justifying the sin. In most cases, the sinner simply justified (excused) his or her sin. Sometimes it was done by claiming the other spouse is "also wrong" and sometimes the justification is conveyed by angry-arrogant silence and the wayward spouse putting an immediate end to the counseling. When and if challenged, the wayward spouse makes some kind of snide comment like, "The counseling didn't work."
It is easier to justify sin than repent. Repentance takes strength, honesty, courage and good character. Most people lack a sufficient quantity of these positive qualities to live a decent life. Even most church people see repentance as something other people ought to do.
I was in the pastorate for 25 years. In those 25 years, I never saw a church member repent of anything. I asked a pastor friend who has been in the ministry as long as I have if he ever saw a Christian repent of anything. He said, "One." I am not saying that no church member in any church where I was the pastor ever repented of a sin. I am just saying I never saw it happen.
In every case, when there was a church member who was wrong and got caught, that church member justified their sin and got mad. Their anger caused them to lash out against me and others and/or leave the church spouting their disgust.
People often wonder why the church as a whole in America is powerless. "The wages of sin is death." (Romans 6:23.) The spiritual power of the church is crushed under the weight of the sin of its membership.
Why do people justify homosexuality? It is because those people are weak not strong, liars not honest, cowards not courageous and of poor character rather than people of good character. There is one more reason. Some people justify homosexuality out of a sincere opinion that homosexuality is right. The Bible addresses those people with two key verses.
"There is a way that seemeth right to a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death." (Proverbs 16:25.) When a person rejects the wisdom of God and the leading of the Holy Spirit, all that is left is his or her opinion. All people, without the wisdom of God, do wrong things while declaring themselves right. Saul of Tarsus (who became the Apostle Paul) hunted Christians thinking he was doing God a favor. Many of those who screamed for the crucifixion of the Lord Jesus Christ spent crucifixion evening in Passover celebration!
The second verse is ,"...God shall send them strong delusion that they should believe a lie." (2 Thessalonians 2:11). Those who arrogantly reject Christ as Savior for an extended period of time often find themselves punished by God in a way that their minds actually believe that obvious lies are true. Those of us who are not so punished think they are stupid. They are not stupid. They are wicked and diluted. And, because they are wicked and diluted, they think and act stupidly. I stand corrected. I guess they are stupid. "If it walks, quacks and acts like a duck...."
Next month (June 2015) the Supreme Court of the United States of America is scheduled to rule on whether so-called "gay-marriage" should be declared the law of the land. How will they vote? The Justices with strength, honesty, courage, godly character, who are not overtaken by personal sin (pure in soul) or overtaken by divine delusion will vote "no." The weak, liars, cowards, ungodly, sin-filled, and/or stupid Justices will vote "yes."
It is the height of stupidity to suggest that the Founding Fathers intended the Constitution of the United States as a supportive or authoritative document to legalize homosexual marriage. It is the height of arrogance to think that nine people have the intelligence or the authority to declare 4,000 years of historical male-female marriage wrong. Since marriage, according to the Bible, is between a man and a woman, for any person (Supreme Court Justice, or not) to declare that God is wrong, is the height of demonic-pride. It takes commitment to a demon to declare that God is a liar.
"The woman said to the serpent, '...from the fruit of the tree which is in the middle of the garden, God has said, You shall not eat from it or touch it, or you will die.'" "The serpent said to the woman, 'You...will not die!…"' (Genesis 3:3:4). The devil called God a liar! Let's see what the Supreme Court Justices say about God being a liar or speaking the truth.
Remember, it takes commitment to and fellowship with a demon to call God a liar! It requires a person who is weak, a coward, ungodly, sin-filled and stupid to justify sin. We will know them by their vote.
