Romney: Marco Rubio IS being vetted for VP job

Mitt Romney told reporters in Michigan that Florida Sen. Marco Rubio is being looked at as his possible running mate, adding that a news story out today about the Tea Party favorite not being vetted was "entirely false."


"Marco Rubio is being thoroughly vetted as part of our process," Romney said during a campaign stop in Holland, Mich.

ABC News reported yesterday that the freshman senator was not being vetted to be Mitt Romney's running mate. The report cited "knowledgeable sources."

Rubio applauds illegal immigration in new book - supports those who do it

The Ticket (Yahoo)  - Hypothetically, if Marco Rubio were not an American citizen and could not provide food for his family, he says he would cross the border illegally to come to the United States.

While discussing immigration policy in his new memoir, An American Son, Rubio called for "common decency" in dealing with undocumented immigrants and said that if put in a similar position as those who are fleeing destitution, he would break the law, too.

"Many people who come here illegally are doing exactly what we would do if we lived in a country where we couldn't feed our families," Rubio writes in his book, which went on sale Tuesday.  "If my kids went to sleep hungry every night and my country didn't give me an opportunity to feed them, there isn't a law, no matter how restrictive, that would prevent me from coming here."

Ineligible Marco Rubio hits campaign trail under guise of "book tour"

Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., will embark on a book tour this summer through three key battleground states – Florida, North Carolina, and Virginia – along with South Carolina and Georgia.

ABC News confirmed Thursday that Rubio will promote his autobiography, “An American Son,” which will be released June 19, with a book tour over the Fourth of July holiday weekend.

Is it possible that the book title is a message to the "birthers" that says "Hey look, put aside the whole strict interpretation thing. I'm 'An American Son' after all". The book tour will wrap up just in time for the National GOP Convention in August.

Though this will certainly not help Romney at all, and we do mean, at all! This will only serve to keep more people at home on election day. People who believe strongly in the constitutional rule of law which prohibits Marco Rubio from running for either vice president or president. The twelfth amendment clearly states that no one who is ineligible to president can be vice president.

And since a powerful case has been made that Obama is ineligible to be president because he is not "natural born" meaning someone born on american soil to two american citizens that means Marco Rubio, as awesome as he may be, cannot be on the ballot.

So lets sum it all up. Romney is a Mormon which will (trust me) keep many Americans away from the voting booth. He has a liberal history, though he has repented of much of it, people have not forgotten and do not trust him. And now he may further alienate himself from American "constitutionalists" who hold a strict interpretation of the "natural born" requirement.

This may just rob Romney of his White Horse Prophecy dream friends. Could Michael Savage be right? Could Romney be giving Obama four more years?

Romney to Snub "Birthers" by Choosing Rubio?

Marco Rubio is the latest among potential vice presidential picks to hit the campaign trail with Romney, but the first since the frontrunner's main rival Rick Santorum bowed out of the Republican race two weeks ago.

Rubio has been named a favorite to run along side Romney in the race for the White House but there's just one small problem: he's not eligible.

The last sentence of the twelfth amendment of the constitution of the United States reads:

  "But no person constitutionally ineligible to the office of President shall be eligible to that of Vice-President of the United States."

Clearly, with the obvious context of that sentence in mind, by choosing Rubio as VP candidate to run with him Romney would be directly slapping those with legitimate eligibility concerns in the face.

Marco Rubio is not eligible to be president or vice president because his father was not a citizen when Rubio was born. Since the President must be born on American soil with both parents as American citizens this would disqualify Rubio.

However Wolf Blitzer of CNN said on his April 23 "Situation Room" program that Romney will not likely choose Rubio anyway because he is too young and too inexperienced.

So we continue to speculate - however - a clear message needs to be sent to Mormon hopeful Mitt Romney that there are powerful voices out there who require a clear reading of the eligibility issue and would be insulted and ultimately alienated by Mitt Romney should he decide to ignore the voices which have rallied against Barack Obama's eligibility and the failure of congress to vet the President.
