Atheists dub Jesus a 'myth' on Times Square billboard - PPSIMMONS responds

Just as midtown Manhattan comes alive with Christmas cheer, festive window displays and Salvation Army bell ringers trying to channel holiday generosity to the needy, an atheist group has a message for the masses teeming into Times Square: Jesus is a myth.

With a picture of Santa Claus above another image of Jesus Christ, the sign, sponsored by New Jersey-based American Atheists, urges passersby to "Keep the Merry!" and "Dump the Myth!"

Attacks on Christianity from the group have become routine, and in the bustling heart of America's busiest city, most folks don't even waste a shrug on the sign. But some took notice, and did not approve.

“It’s a damn shame. It’s an insult,” said Anthony White, 41, a of Jersey City, N.J. said. “Why did they have to put that up?”

PPSIMMONS' Response:

"When one considers the amount of money such a billboard would cost one is reminded that a fool and his money are easily parted"

¶<<To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.>> The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.
Psalms 14:1

  1. You know for a group of people who say there is no God they certainly go to great lengths and expense to attempt to disprove God! I mean if they truly believe He doesn't exist then why do they feel the need to even bother at all??? Unless deep down they know He does but are just trying to convince everyone and themselves that He doesn't? Just like putting your fingers in your ears while shouting "I can't hear you"!

  2. I'm not saying for sure Jesus is a myth, but there are no reliable sources which would prove his existence. The bible is the only document which mentions Jesus, and only from third degree hearsay. There are NO reports from contemporaries, nor any mention by historians. Which is what you would expect for a man with the impact he had. So, yes, most likely a myth. (Before you feel offended, this doesn't mean you can't practice you religion, I don't mind if you do. Or is your belief that small?)

  3. Dear Steven - WOW! You really NEED Carl Gallups #1 Amazon Best Seller - titled THE MAGIC MAN IN THE SKY - it gives you irrefutable, undeniable, indisputable proof of the existence of God. The book is going crazy worldwide and thus far not a single serious response from the atheist community. It was reviewed in the Washington Times and featured on international television and radio...the atheists are strangely silent about it. You may want to get a copy at Amazon. Just saying...it could help.
