A TIME TO KILL. A TIME OF PEACE. WHAT TIME IS IT?

by Rev. Joda Collins.

A great percentage of Christians believe it is our Christian duty to "forgive everyone" (Luke 11:4) of everything even if the offender does not repent. Hell is the place where every person that God does not forgive spends eternity.   If it is the Christian thing to forgive everyone for everything then God is a hypocrite.

Jesus said, "Love your enemies, bless them...do good to them that hate you...."  Matthew 5:44.   Many Christians feel Christians are duty-bound to only do good to those who announce themselves to be our enemy and do hate-filled things to us and ours such as burn down our houses, rape the women in our homes and threaten to cut off our heads.   However, God sent his people to war against their enemies. Deuteronomy 3:18. Exodus 15:3. God taught David to be a man of war.  Psalms 144:1. Jesus Christ is coming back to war against his enemies. Revelation 19:11-15.  Hell is a place where the enemies of God live in torment forever.  Is any of that love?  Are any of these things acts of doing good?  Is God the ultimate hypocrite?

Jesus said to "turn the other cheek."   Matthew 5:39.   The Bible clearly states to fear God (Hebrews 10:31) because God is a God of vengeance. Deuteronomy 32:35.  God, it seems, does not turn the other cheek!  How hypocritical is that!?"   Is the following sentence a statement of Jesus turning the other cheek? --  "And I saw heaven opened, and (Jesus)...make war.  His eyes (on) fire...(his clothing) dipped in blood....armies...followed him....out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he...smite(s) the nations...."  Revelation 19:11-15. (Parenthesis mine.)  I think this is NOT Jesus turning the other cheek!

Jesus said not to resist evil. Matthew 5:39.   The devil is certainly evil, and the Word of God tell us to resist the devil.  James 4:7.    Luke 22:36.  Jesus said, "Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword."  Matthew 10:34.  Jesus told the disciples to open carry the weapon of self-defense of their day (sword).  "...he that hath no sword...buy one."   "...two swords...is enough."  Luke 22:38.  If it is wrong to resist evil, then why open carry?  Isn't that hypocritical?   Think about all the people of Jesus' day who felt threatened, intimidated and terrified by open carry!  How can open carry be equated with "resist not evil"?   Jesus the hypocrite?

God is not a hypocrite.   Jesus is not a hypocrite.  Christians are not supposed to forgive everyone for everything, do only good to our enemies, turn the other cheek constantly, tolerate all evil, be modern day pacifists, refuse to defend ourselves or surrender our knives, swords, clubs, nunchucks, pepper spray, mace, stun guns, pistols and automatics.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-15 reads:  "To every thing there is...a time....A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up....A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;  A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace."  Wise people know this.  The unwise do not.  The Bible student knows, from the Word of God, what time it is.  The biblically unaware do not.   Spiritually-aware people know what time it is.  The spiritually-ignorant do not.

Do you know what time it is?
