One thing I have come to greatly appreciate about getting to minister along side my good friends Pastor Carl Gallups and his son Pastor Brandon Gallups over the years is how they will both say, "please show me where that is in the Bible", especially after someone brings forth some strange unexplainable and bizarre account?
Recently Pastor Brandon sent me a story of a mother who claims her security camera captured images of her deceased son. There is nothing new under the sun, (Ecclesiastes 1:9-10) so straightway I am recalling photographs presented in times past where people have claimed to have photographed Elvis Presley's ghost and other such celebrities, along strange unexplainable images of.
One of the earliest accounts of "Spirit photography", was probably by the work of photographer Mr. William H. Mumler back in the 1860's. Mr. Mumler discovered quite by accident the technique of double exposure. Realising there was a market for such mistakes he wasted no time establishing himself as a medium for a hefty fee and started altering the negatives by adding in ghostly images of lost loved ones. Until one day he went to far and exposed himself as a charlatan after it was discovered he put identifiable living Boston residents in the photos as spirits.
There have been many variations played on this theme ever since. In fact Photoshop technologies have now advance to such a degree experts are unable to identify the real from the manipulated photographs in a court of law.
Nevertheless, there are always those exceptions that defy logic. That said the recent article I was sent says, "A mother who lost her son two years ago due to an accidental drug overdose believes his apparition appeared on her security camera just to let her know he was "happy" in the next world. The mother of the deceased young gentlemen is one Ms. Jennifer Hodge of Atlanta, Georgia. Ms. Hodge also says she believes strongly in God and has indicated this was God showing her that her son was happy in Heaven. Keeping in mind most people if asked today believe they and their loved ones shall all go to heaven regardless if they met the requirements established by the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth, Messiah Yeshua. For example: John 14:15,"If ye love me, keep my commandments.
John 14:6,"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
Romans 10:9,"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."
Romans 10:9,"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."
Indeed this seems an interesting account as described by Ms. Hodge and I believe she is sincere in her believing her deceased son has returned to give her and her daughter photographic "proof", that he is well and happy in the next dimensional world.
Ms. Hodge said she was in bed watching television with her 21-year-old daughter Lauren when she received an alert from her Nest camera, which is triggered by movement and noise, that a "person" has been "spotted" in the entryway of their home last week. All alone in the house, the mother and her daughter ran to the kitchen, even though they were terrified. However, no one was there, and there was no sign of any sort of noticeable break-in. The Hodge's then examined the image from the security camera and quite to their utter astonishment it appeared to look just like Ms. Hodge's late son, Robbie who passed away in 2016 at the age of 23 years old. Ms. Hodge and her daughter apparently believe the cause of Robbie's death at the time was from taking an accidental overdose of fake Xanax."
Prior to Robbie's death, Ms. Hodge had set up a charity with him to try and help people battling addictions. Robbie himself struggled with addictions like use of heroin.
Ms. Hodge posted on her face book page these strange images which look like her son in a double exposure reminiscent of work of Mr. Mumler from the 1860's.
Ms. Hodge Face Book account: "That brings me some comfort, but I still just think it's weird. I'm in awe — why did this happen to me? I haven't seen anything since, and I had never seen a ghost before. Does it look like Robbie? Yes. I would love to see anybody else's camera where people might look transparent. This is just weird."
We read the account in Luke 16:19-31 where the rich man dies, and ends up in a place of torment. The rich man cries out in his anguished torment as he can see across a great gulf into a place of paradise asking for only a drop of water to cool his tongue. The rich man sees the poor man that he mistreated whilst they were both alive on earth named Lazarus who is enjoying himself and spending time with father Abraham. The rich man wants to send a warning back to his five brothers that they repent and not end up where he is spending eternity.
Abraham tells the rich man, that his brothers have Moses and the prophets; and they can hear the truth from them. The rich man pleads if only someone would come back from the dead they would believe in God almighty and repent. Nevertheless father Abraham explains to him that if they won't listen and obey the law of Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though someone comes back from the dead to warn them.
Interestingly there is an account of the testimony of Pastor Daniel Ekechukwu in Africa who died from injuries sustained from a motorcar accident the 30th November 2001 and through the prayers of several Christians return back to life several days later after doctors signed his death certificate and a mortician had begun the embalming procedure. I happen to know several people involved in this extraordinary account. Pastor Ekechukwu claims the Lord had granted the rich man's request to send a final warning to this generation to repent before its too late by sending him back into this world. Pastor Ekechukwu claims he was taken by angels to gates of hell where he was informed he would spend eternity because he had a fight with his wife and refused to forgive her even after she repented and asked forgiveness. The angel of the Lord showed Pastor Ekechukwu Matthew 18 pointing out verse 35,"So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses."
There is a documentary of this testimony from Christ For All Nations. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6toVB36An7k
I have also spent time with David Servant back in 2002 after this account happened where we were both speaking at a conference together in Texas, not long after I had personally experienced my own miracle healing from a NDE.
David also helped free some children in the Middle East from slave traders, and I know he is a man of great integrity.
I pray that I have helped establish here that I certainly believe the Word of God from cover to cover and that I can also testify to experiencing numerous supernatural healings and miracles happening by administering the Word of God in the almighty name of Jesus/Yeshua, let us address this issue of seeing ghost.
It appears to me after many years of biblical study and research this sort of account we read of with Ms. Jennifer Hodge may most likely be revealing what is called a familiar spirit. They seem to be assigned to families in a generational way perhaps going all the way back to Adam, until someone repents for engaging in occultism before the Lord's throne of mercy, grace and love to cancel their assignment by the blood of Jesus/Yeshua.
A familiar spirit would certainly know secrets no one else would be likely to know. There are no walls in the spirit world and they are watching you, learning your ways and habits, how you comb your hair and what you like to eat etc. Here is a few Scriptures from our Holy Guide Book to the Supernatural that may help shed some light onto this darkness.
By the way I also think it was clearly a familiar spirit that appeared to Saul and took him away from the truth. King Saul as we study was entertaining a spirit of fear which God did not give him and is opposite faith. Without faith it is Impossible to please the Lord.
Seeing how the Philistine army had gathered round Saul to attack Israel, with Saul unsure of what to do moans, "If only Samuel were here, he would tell me what to do." Knowing the prophet Samuel had died a few years earlier. Saul makes a fatal mistake here and goes against what the Holy Scripture warns us all about. He tells his servant to go seek me a woman that hath a familiar spirit, that I may go to her, and inquire of her. (1 Samuel 28:7-25) Papa God clearly commanded His people never to consult a witch or any kind of medium but King Saul like many professing believers who do not study to show themselves approved had little regard for the Lord God Almighty implicit instructions.
We read that King Saul disguised himself and went to see that witch/physic/medium, and tells her to "Bring me up Samuel." This witch/physic/medium went through her spells and enchantments until an apparition claiming to be Samuel the prophet appeared to her and so she gives the king an utterly hopeless message.
Her familiar spirit now has his undivided attention as it is able to predict and help set up that Saul and his three sons would die in battle the very next day. Instead of turning to the Lord for help and guidance and repenting the next day Saul's sons were slain by the Philistines, and afterward the wounded and discouraged king falls on his sword trying commit suicide.
Only Saul suffers on until someone came along who he convinces to finish him off and sadly that person ends up being slain by David for finishing Saul off. (See 1 Samuel 31).
So the question of who spoke to Saul through the witch of Endor, a resurrected prophet of the Lord, or a demon in disguise becomes rather clear. Bottom line Samuel did not appear to Saul, rather a familiar spirit impersonating him did.
In this ghost story I suspect Ms. Jennifer Hodge and her daughter were not actually lead closer to the Lord Jesus/Yeshua from this experience but it appears to me that the enemy has come to mislead her and many people who perish from lack of knowledge of the Word of God.
Least anyone not understand the devil and his demons intentions are to kill, steal and destroy.
Leviticus 19:31 – Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I [am] the LORD your God.
Leviticus 20:27 – A man also or woman that hath a familiar spirit, or that is a wizard, shall surely be put to death: they shall stone them with stones: their blood [shall be] upon them.
Leviticus 20:6 – And the soul that turneth after such as have familiar spirits, and after wizards, to go a whoring after them, I will even set my face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people.
Isaiah 8:19 – And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead?
Isaiah 19:3 – And the spirit of Egypt shall fail in the midst thereof; and I will destroy the counsel thereof: and they shall seek to the idols, and to the charmers, and to them that have familiar spirits, and to the wizards.
2 Chronicles 33:6 – And he caused his children to pass through the fire in the valley of the son of Hinnom: also he observed times, and used enchantments, and used witchcraft, and dealt with a familiar spirit, and with wizards: he wrought much evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.
2 Kings 23:24 – Moreover the [workers with] familiar spirits, and the wizards, and the images, and the idols, and all the abominations that were spied in the land of Judah and in Jerusalem, did Josiah put away, that he might perform the words of the law which were written in the book that Hilkiah the priest found in the house of the LORD.
2 Kings 21:6 – And he made his son pass through the fire, and observed times, and used enchantments, and dealt with familiar spirits and wizards: he wrought much wickedness in the sight of the LORD, to provoke [him] to anger.
Deuteronomy 18:10 – There shall not be found among you [any one] that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, [or] that useth divination, [or] an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch,
Galatians 5:20 – Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
Acts 16:16-18 – And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying:
Can we see into the spiritual realm? Where is that in the Bible? Let me leave you with this blessed hope.
2 Kings 6:17," And Elisha prayed, and said, Lord, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha. 18 And when they came down to him, Elisha prayed unto the Lord, and said, Smite this people, I pray thee, with blindness. And he smote them with blindness according to the word of Elisha. 19 And Elisha said unto them, This is not the way, neither is this the city: follow me, and I will bring you to the man whom ye seek. But he led them to Samaria.
20 And it came to pass, when they were come into Samaria, that Elisha said, Lord, open the eyes of these men, that they may see. And the Lord opened their eyes, and they saw; and, behold, they were in the midst of Samaria."
The Lord Jesus/Yeshua said in John 10:27," My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:" Fight back overcomers, trust Papa God for every detail and stay in faith! Because "All", things are possible with God! I pray the Lord's supernatural peace, healing, provision and protection cover you always with oceans of agape love in the almighty name of Jesus/Yeshua!

Putting this out there so people will see this is the email I received from Notifications@nest.com. It has been a crazy week, as the person spotted does look like my son. Lauren and I were home alone, watching a movie when the notification appeared on my phone.
I believe strongly in God and all I can say is......
"God's Got This".
