Mr. President,
Please do not open the American economy using the power or influence of the Presidential office because somewhere there might be an upswing in the Wuhan Virus cases, however, if there is no such increase the Democrats will lie from Governor's offices, from Congress and on mainstream television/radio and say there is an upswing in reported cases and deaths. The left will use that (true or not) to mark you as unfit for reelection. The average American is not informed enough to evaluate such a statement wisely, if repeated often. We need you in office four more years more than we need the economy open right now.
Sooner or later Americans will realize the economy needs to restart and Americans will revolt at continued efforts to keep the economy hampered. Sooner or later politicians will be pressured by the citizens towards reopening the economy. One good thing about the terror reign of Obama is that more Americans are armed now than ever before! Sooner or later some Congressional Democrats will admit that destroying the economy of the US is not a viable option and they will join the growing chorus of those demanding the opening of the economy. Sooner or later economists, both Republican and Democrat, will begin to chide you for not opening the economy. Sooner or later those who advise you on such matters will loudly proclaim the economy must reopen. When the cry to open the economy comes from many quarters, you allow the Governor's of the States to make the call for each State. Stay out of it!
When the economy booms again, with or without an increase in the contractions of and deaths due to the Wuhan Virus, you can stand clear of any accusations that caused such. Of course, you will be accused of waiting too long to contribute your voice to the opening of the economy by such and such a date or in spite of State governor's decisions, but you can always say, "I followed the course suggested by the most brilliant minds on this matter." Plausible deniability = reelection. Our nation will probably recover from a prolonged economic shutdown. We may never recover if sleepy Joe becomes President.
